    Lin will be fine.

Kobe is coming off a big injury, is 35, and has nothing to play for; I don't see him playing more than 34ish minutes. The Lakers also have no big men to demand post-touches, so more likely than not, everything will run from the outside-in.

Combine that with the fact they have a ton of young-guns who need to get out and run, I don't see how Lin won't eclipse his offensive role from this year.

He'll run a bit of pick/roll/pop stuff with randle and boozer. Kobe is done, good year for Lin to run wild on a nothing team, depending how well he plays I could see a team offering him 3yr 10-15m when his contract is up

It will depend tremendously on how he performs this season.

Lowry had a number of down seasons in Toronto, then in his contract year on the Raptors he put up all star/near all star numbers. Prior to that his performance on the Raptors was nowhere near last year.

The same applies to Dragic and his previous year's performance on the Suns.

Players need a system and organization that plays to their strengths and gives them opportunities on the floor.

While folks like to discount players as "system" players, virtually every player is a "system" player to some degree or another. Put Howard in a run and gun offense with no post ups and he won't perform as well. Similarly you can't have Melo primarily spotting up the corner 3 in the D'Antoni system and expect great performances any more than you can put Kevin Love in the Memphis grind offense and expect him to do well.

Depending on how Lin is utilized and how his development pans out, his next contract is fully on him and his ability to maximize his opportunities. While a $10-$15M contract isn't likely, if he has a break out year than we may all be singing a different tune... or could just as easily all be singing the same ones.

We'll all find out one way or another.

The boy can pass the rock.

If he can become the shooter that Nash is he can still be a very good player in this league.

I never liked the guy in a Houston Rockets uniform. I do however agree that he is better off as a Laker especially with a coach like Byron Scott who runs a very PG oriented system. He's going to feed off his own hometown crowd. We got raped by the Lakers in the deal. I figured we would have at least been given an ipad and one of their picks instead.

How well he plays in LA is irrelevant, he just wasn't a good fit in Houston. That doesn't change whether he plays like a scrub or an all star. I would expect him to do well since he'll be one of the primary options but as a result also expect LA to be a very average team. If he doesn't perform very well in this somewhat perfect scenario for him, my bet is that he'll play in China or somewhere else next year where he can make much more money.

Let's be real, Scott will have to change his system to a Kobe oriented system. Lin will have to pray for a Kobe injury to have his time to shine.

I think he means cheering for Lin only and not the Lakers when we play them. Same will be done with Parsons and Asik I am sure.

We should have gotten a couple of Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles franchises for Lin.

I doubt it cost $15 million to build one.
