Anybody else question the selection of who was out tonight against the Pelicans? I assume Howard played with about 35% effort. I feel as though Beverley is the most susceptible to injury with his style of play. Why Asik, Lin, Harden and Parsons? Why not Howard, Harden, Bev and Parsons?

Howard, Beverley just got back a few games ago... they likely wanted to get the work in to get in better game shape before the playoffs.

Worrell said Beverly has had that injury for a couple of years. He is use to playing with it and needed the extra minutes to get back in shape. As for Howard he just needed to stretch his lungs and McHale had him practicing passing on the double more than anything. Hard to complain about that.

I wanted to win because it would have sealed HCA in the finals against everyone except the pacers. Turns out Miami lost and we still got HCA except against Indy. So it all worked out.

A meaningless game in terms of winning but meaningful in terms of practicing some things, getting some players in shape and seeing if Daniels can perform with more minutes.

OP you have your answer -- this is exactly why DW and Bev played.
