For the dense ones out there, this means no news or posts pertaining to non Astro players and/or affiliates unless one of the Astros' minor league teams is involved in game action with that player and/or team.

    :)

    9 walks in 1.2 innings... that's... impressive?

Clearly the team needed someone that makes Appel's stats look amazing.

I am guessing this is a lottery ticket (Miguel Severino) for low ceiling albeit advanced trade (Michael Dimock). Dimock may be at his ceiling (most draftees dream of making it to AA). I will say that Dimock's mustache was MLB ready ;)

LOL How do you walk 9 guys in 1.2 innings. And 8 wild pitches to boot.

Amazingly he's only hit one person. I really wanna see this guy pitch, than can't be a comfortable AB.

That made me laugh out loud. Maybe that's the approach: make them take pitches out of fear and lull them into a strike out after throwing lawn darts.

I think this is part of phase 2 of the Luhnow minor league buildout. Phase 1 was two-fold. Acquire as many prospects as possible (even those with just 1-2 tools) and fill out the rest with advanced, low upside college guys to promote a winning culture. The minor league teams are clearly winners (6/6 playoff teams). Now they're facing a huge roster crunch at the AA/AAA levels and are easing it by either releasing older guys or trading them for DOSL/GCL/GRN level players.

Same thing happened in the draft, they took a bunch of JUCO players they could stash in GCL/Appy teams instead of getting more productive, low-upside players that would go to full season clubs.

I wanna see a scouting report because if they're gonna trade for someone that old in the DSL with that crappy of a statline he'd better throw 150mph.

Eric L. Smith (@Eric_L_Smith): No official word from #JetHawks, but source says second baseman Tony Kemp has been promoted to Corpus Christi. He found out last night.
