08-09 team better than 14-15 team?

That team didnt make the western conference finals. End of discussion.

 

NO DOUBT. They fought with the Championship team _ LAL. That series went to the game 7 and now we are down by 3.

 

This 14-15 team might be a better regular season team thanks to multiple key injuries aka Durant, Kawhi and Parker. Ya we missed Howard for half of the season but a healthy Durant or Kawhi is just on another level.

If the Rockets can get better defenders, shooters and a playmaker, we can have the best of both. Let's hope for the best.

 

If they played each other in a series, this team would win in 7 games but would be blown out three times in the process.

 

The 09 team would crush this years team.

Yao was far greater than Howard, and Artest would make Harden cry in a corner.

We may've beaten LA with a healthy Dikembe.

 

Fully healthy, the 09 team was the best team of the Morey era. That team had better coaching, better toughness, more heart and higher IQ. This team has more flaws. That team fully healthy would have won the championship that year.

 

Still think Kobe, Gasol and Bynum are better than Curry, Klay, Greene, Bogut

Maybe GS's bench is deeper

That team had Deke, Yao, and McGrady go down at various times. That's some hall-of-fame level talent missing from a roster that took the eventual champs to 7 games!

Why would TMac be a factor?

08-09 would have been a bad matchup for this year's team

 

If healthy that 09-08 team is probably better than this team but the team that took the Lakers to 7 wasn't anywhere near full strength. Even missing Montejunas ans Beverly the current team is more talented than the 09 team that played the Lakers.

The one thing though I will give that team though is more heart and character. This team did something incredible in coming back from 3-1 but a team with Chuck Hayes playing center took the eventual champions to 7 including a blowout win at TC in game 6.

2009 Rockets next to the championship are my favorite team. That said the season isn't over yet for the current Rockets so let's not eulogize them yet.

 

Yeah the 08-09 team was miles better than this one at every position. If only they hadn't been derailed by injury. Much more heart than this team too.

 

mentally, the 09 team was miles beyond this current team. no doubt.

talent-wise, the 09 team was better too.

but they had much worse luck.

but who cares about the what-ifs. i dont.

in a league where only the championship is the ultimate goal, you can call whatever a "success", or you can call anything but the title a failure. isnt that the reality?

of course, it depends on what perspective you may have or not have. i am sure the perspective is different for,,, say les and me...

 

They lost to the eventual champions.
And Lakers steamrolled everyone else on the way.

Think its safe to say the winner of that series might have won the whole thing.
