That is a weird feeling. The Lakers and Celtics have been long-time winning franchises, so their absence is particularly noticeable. The nice thing about the NBA is that with the quality of play and stars on other teams, none of these teams will be missed.

Why is a team with a below .500 winning percentage all time included with two of the winningest franchises in NBA history?

    Oh, wait. I know why.

It's like Rick Barry, Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, and Corey Brewer.

I have a hard time seeing Melo stick with the knicks now. He's wasting his prime, and his career staying with NY, if he's at all concerned with winning.

In the year, Stern retired as NBA commissioner... Coincidence? I think not!

I'm kidding, maybe.. But none of those teams had any hope for reaching the playoffs she the season started anyway. Certainly not the Lakers, despite their idiotic fan base or the Celtics. And the Knicks were closer to being a team that self destructs on itself than competing with one another for a title when the season began.

History wise out of those 3 the Knicks are the worst.

But as far as this year I would have liked to see them edge out the Hawks. I'd rather watch them than Atlanta.

The Knicks are the most valuable franchise in the nba. So in some ways, it's the celtics that are the odd team of the three. Knicks and Lakers have the most fans so I'm sure there will be a lot of indifference towards the playoffs this year. I mean, sports fans will still watch, but the thousands of people that hop onto nba playoff bandwagons whenever the lakers or Knicks are good will not care.

What will be interesting will be whether there will be interest if the Nets or Clippers go deep. I mean, they do represent NY and LA, but they are not the Knicks or Lakers.

Adam Silver faints lol. I really bet he's terrified of the possibility of a Spurs-Pacers finals lol.
