Since this ends right before game time, we should also organize a post Clutch Community, Pre-Game before CFnet Pre-Thxgiving Rockets get-together. For Pre and Post Lin Era fans I'm in.
The last time we volunteered there (same location we will be visiting this month), we all hooked up at Lucky's Pub afterwards... It's right down the street from the Star of Hope. I think all involved had a great time, but my wife and I are up for whatever everyone decides.
Good morning Rocket fans! What a fantastic game last night against the Mavs. I'm going to bump this because we're getting close to crunch time once again.
I'll be posting some more information about our upcoming event shortly. I would appreciate a head count for all who plans on attending.
Hello ClutchFan Family, Friends, and Fellow Charity Workers! This is a reminder that our November event is coming up this Wednesday, 26-November from 16:00 - 18:30 at the Star of Hope Women and Family Emergency Shelter at 419 Dowling Street, Houston 77003 (near the BBVA Stadium) prepping, serving, and clean-up of dinner. We are hoping that all who have shown interest thus far are still willing to participate for this special "day-before-Thanksgiving" need. We ask that you please sign in and out under the Clutch Community PIN #742013 (or reference "Clutch Community" if you do not have the number handy) at the reception desk, which will be at your left upon entering the building. Considering we will be working in the kitchen, please wear a hat (Rockets-preferred) or hairnet, and close-toed shoes. If you have any of the following 'basic essential' offerings to bring, we and the Star of Hope Mission ask that you consider donating them (however, I realize this is short notice so please don't feel obligated). There is a donation drop-off center at the facility we will be working at, so no need to make any extra trips. For those who can, we ask that you please reach out to your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, church family, teams and clubs to assist with the following items: Star of Hope Current Needs: Clothing-gently used or new: men, women and children’s (clean and free of stains and tears, including business casual attire for job interviews) Pairs of shoes: clean, gently used or new New undergarments: men, women and children (bras, panties, boxers, socks, t-shirts) Winter coats, sweaters, jackets, gloves, etc. Hygiene Products—new/unopened (shampoo, deodorant, lotion, soap, brushes, combs, toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, feminine napkins, cotton balls, facial tissue, lip balm, diapers, pull-ups, wet wipes) Bibles and Journals Paper goods: plates, bowls, napkins, forks, spoons & knives Flashlights and batteries Linens--Clean, gently used or new (sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, wash cloths, blankets [no bed spreads]) Bottled water; canned goods (regular and bulk sizes) Unexpired, non-perishable foods Over the counter medications—new/unopened New toys and games (no bicycles) Alarm clocks Phone Cards If anyone is available after the game, we will be heading to nearby Lucky's Pub to watch the Rockets game - if you are interested and not already going to the game. As always, Roc Paint and I will pick up the tab on your first drink. And last but not least, please be sure to wear your Clutch Community t-shirt! If you don't have one (yet), wear your Rockets gear and we will have plenty of t-shirts available to hand out to all of the contributors at this event. Thanks again for your support and cooperation. I hope you are going to be able to bring Rubio, Goran or Rondo with you. j/k I'm glad you will be joining us once again friend!
I'll be there Btw: will parking be an issue on a weekday? Maybe I'll just park at TC then take a cab from there, so I don't have to repark
There is plenty of parking...but if you want...park your car at the TC, and my wife and I can drop you off after our charity event.
