Carmike Theatres opts to NOT show Sony motion picture "The Interview"

It's all tied to the Sony hacks, just as I've been saying since they started.

 

I'll be at Sundance downtown on the 26th to watch. Come at me, but at least let me finish my buttery popcorn.

 

They let the terrorists win.

Anyways it probably has more to do with their threats of attacking theaters.

Are you suggesting no one should ever criticize someone else unless that person knows who they are?

I live relatively close to the Carmike Yorktown 15 off highway 6 but I've never considered going there. Doesn't look that nice. So no real loss.

(Not that I was going to see this in the theater anyway...)

To be fair, what I was saying,though, was that all along with the Sony hacks, I've been saying its because of this movie. People have been speculating everything else, but nobody wanted to give the credit to it all being because of The Interview.

 

I was always going to wait till redbox anyway. But it did look pretty hilarious/stupid.

 

I'll provably see it in the theaters. Looks awesome. I will make sure I pay cash though.

 

I wouldn't say that. It could end up the move gets a more narrow distribution and therefore makes less money. But, because of the all the news around it, the movie has gotten a ton of free press and a lot more people know about the movie than would have otherwise. I bet it gets a wider viewership in the long-run. They may decrease Sony's profits, but they managed to increase the scale of defamation of the Glorious Leader. Assuming the hackers are North Korean, I don't think they're winning at all.

 

I'm suggesting that it's juvenile and asinine to threaten or even jokingly taunt a government official in the manner which the original 'criticizer' did it. I doubt he would say that to his face.

 

I'm almost positive you've made comments about someone that you wouldn't say to their face, and we're not even talking an "official" of any sort.
