Even if the NBA salvages a 50 game season, wave goodbye to the 2012 All-Star Game.

Why don't they just play the all-star game in the off-season?

If the season even starts as late as January, why wouldn't the even happen?

I don't know about the 1998-99 lockout shorten season, but did it have an All-Star game?

    Philly was slated to Host.

They got it a few years later.

Orlando will get one a season or two later.

We did kinda have a lockout ten years ago...

Also, as long as we have ours in 2013, I don't really care.

It didnt have an all-star game, since the regular season started on February 5 and the ASG was programmed to be 9 days later.

and how do you say which players deserve to be in the all-star, if you only play two or three weeks of regular season?

Wouldnt mind being wrong, but not like any Rockets are going anyway, if we're to be realistic.

Not trying to be a homer, but I think Lowry has a good chance of making the all star team, even if it's backing up CP3 and Westbrook.

I agree, all of the pro sports all star games suck. The baseball game is the only one that the players even give any effort to win.

The ASG game could be held in Lowry's bedroom, he still ain't getting selected for the game. Not with all the hyped PGs in the game.

The ASG is part of the problem it gets some of the players thinking they are bigger than the game itself.

Who watches the ASG anymore anyway? It is just a glorified scrimmage.

I do. I like watching NBA players scrimmage and do off the backboard dunks and windmills and stuff. That is fun to me...

If Paul does go to the Knicks, then Lowry might be able to sneak in.

Think about Deron, Paul, Rondo, and Rose are all in the East. Who's left in the West?
    Nash (37)
    Kidd (38)
Parker (29, but only had 3 all star games)
Rubio (can't really talk about him yet)

Unless Tyreke plays the point, Lawson or Gordon step up their game, or another phenom gets drafted, Lowry only has to beat Curry and Westbrook. Is it easy? No. Could he do it? I could see it happening.

I used to love the All star game, it is exciting to attend with a fun energy. But the game itslef has gone to hell. Outside of the fun introductiosn and maybe a dunk or two, iti s like watching the practice and is such a slow boring game. Only a few times in the last 2 decades has it been a fun game, they weer much more competitive in the 90s even in the all star game.(that is what happens when the top players have the lebron new age DNA-ok, sorry, just wanted to add that in)

The dunk contest used to be special, btu that is just a clown show now..literally, it is just boring hteatrics rather than full on creative dunks, it is more just what you do before the dunk.

it is sad when the most excciting even is the 3 point contest

Ok, cool, I don't find it all that exciting, I like competition more than show.
