Uncle Drew and Wes, lol. Let's see what kind of commercials Nike puts out now that they're on the same team.

After reading ESPNs piece, it looks like Lebron pushed for Love this season, instead of waiting next season for him to become a FA. I figured as much. They could've kept Wiggins and signed Love next year, but he wants to try to win a ring asap. I guess if he doesn't win a ring (or gets close) the next two seasons in Cleveland, he's going to sign somewhere else?

Lebron doesn't have to wait two seasons. He and Love both can leave next summer if they got really unhappy (highly unlikely but you never know with 100% certainty).

Does this take away from Lebron's letter, especially the part about him going to a situation with young players and the road to a throphy is not going to be easy? I think it does since I'm not sure he goes back if he knew the Cavaliers were not in a position to get a guy like Love.

agents work things out behind the scenes. lebron wouldn't have gone there if it wasn't already a done deal.

just like when he went to miami, those 3 guys knew a year ahead of time that they would join forces in miami, but they all went to hear what other teams had to offer. it was all a smoke screen.

you don't think before signing here that lebron talked to love? or that loves agent told the wolves that they have to send him to the cavs? agents are the real power players because if a GM pisses one off, he won't be signing any of that agent's clients anymore. help an agent out (like letting parsons out of his contract a year early) and he might steer his prized client your way (dwight).

tldr: lebron and love knew they were teaming up before lebron signed in cleveland, otherwise he wouldn't have signed there at all.

    Totally agree with ya.

The rumours were there early on. It was just a matter of ironing out the right deal.

The deal for Love was not done until after Lebron signed. It came about afterward. Lebron did not sign in Cleveland while knowing Love was going to come there. Love was determined to roll with the kids and he had to think long and hard about approving a trade sending out Wiggins. It wasn't an easy decision.

Morey took a bunch of steps forward last off season only to cough up some huge mistakes this season. That Parson's final year would have been great towards a Love trade and signing. I bet Wolves would have taken a package of Lin, Asik and Parsons (still on expiring deal).

Oh yeah, they would have loved to take on $30m salary, plus a minimum contract guy who could bolt at seasons end INSTEAD of taking the number 1 draft picks from the previous 2 seasons.

    Think before you post...

Wiggins is a classic example of a player that "looks the part" but isn't that player.

BB IQ and Motor are two HUGE traits that at times get overlooked when people salivate over athleticism.

You can take flyers on athleticism in hopes they eventually figure it out. BUT....you don't "double down" on the player with a long term contract (Max etc) without knowing the players "work ethic" and motor to get better.

Rockets have two amazing players in CP & Harden that have the IQ and Motor.

Also, that Wiggins clip is another example of why Butler has had it with Wiggins and Minny. He anin't busting his ass for that foolishness.

That looked like Steven Seagal running back on defense.

You would think after basically getting called out for being a p***y that Wiggins would show some toughness.

Of course zeeshan would bump this thread instead of posting in the preseason game thread.

I just saw on reddit how people think it;s a crappy trade now and given the extension and the jimmy news, I thought it would be relevant

The Love trade was still a crappy trade Cleveland only did it because Bron hates having another star forward on the team.

Cleveland could have kept him and signed another max dude since they had lots of capspace, if Wiggins turns out to be a lemon they can easily trade him away year 2 or something.
