    Ariza > Parsons - ABSOLUTELY
Black > Asik - NOT YET BUT MAYBE IN A COUPLE OF YEARS THIS COULD BE TRUE
Terry > Lin - THE JET USED TO BE FAR BETTER THAN LIN HAS EVER BEEN, HE MIGHT BE **** NOW BUT LIN IS NO JEWEL EITHER.

I was at that second game. It was amazing. I remember when he left the floor the crowd was chanting, "CATO! CATO! CATO!"

To this day I'll always wonder what Kelvin Cato could have accomplished if he had given a damn. But he was on a whole team of underachievers. Cato, Maurice Taylor, Eddie Griffin, etc. All of them fell well short of their potential.

I think Cuttino Mobley was the only guy on the team who was playing up to his potential.

Well.... he finishes around the rim like Asik as well to be fair.

(hint... that's not a good thing).

Seriously though.... let's see the kid actually make the team first. Than lets see him play through about 20 real games first.... and I'm not talking about down in the valley.

I like what I see so far, and you can't go wrong having 2 backup centers (Dorsey & Black) to compete against each other during the season. If either guy proves that they can produce these types of stats in the regular season, they will both be very very valuable minimum contract players & a true steal. Especially Black since he's young, and has room to grow as well (hopefully learns to DUNK IT instead of always trying to lay it up all the damn time).

Wow, this is a stupid thread. To even insinuate that black in anywhere near as good as Asik is banable. This is a classic case of stats not telling the entire story, and its poeple like you that give stats a bad name.

lol... this seems to thoroughly upset you.

    I wasn't insinuating anything.

I posted the stats because it was interesting that they were similar statistically through the preseason. It's not to be taken seriously as if Black is as good as Asik.

other than Asiks post defense and ability to block and somewhat rebound.. how good is ASIK? He has butterfingers and is quite limited offensively.

I think people are blowing out of proportion how good ASIK is here. He's one dimensional.

All I remember him doing last year was sitting around and not giving a dud then the last game he gets called for a moving screen towards the end of the game.

Are people forgetting Asik gaurding LMA in the playoffs?

Better hope Jones/Dmo can gaurd top tier 4's cause there is no "Asik" to replace them with if they are getting killed for 40 points a game

Aldridge cooled off because he was tired from making open jumpers the first two games.

What Asik giveth in defense he taketh away in offense. missed layups and FT..it came to be about a wash. Then coupled with his attitude on NOT wanting to be here was a negative.

I don't think saying Ariza is better than Parsons is a stretch at all.

I agree with that but without jones getting the rockets off to a good start in 8 games last year they may not have even made the playoffs. who knows. point is. Asik is a dud
