Same, Conley is fine, but certainly nothing special. He is the 3rd best player on a team that is a borderline playoff team imo

Conley is not top 5 but definitely top 10.

He is one of the most under-rated PG's in this league.

In fact, given contract, fit and all else, he would be amongst my top 3 choices to play alongside Harden for the Rockets.

No freaking way. These 5 are clearly better.

    Cp3
    Curry
    Rose
    Westbrook
    Parker

He has to fight with these PG's for the next spot

    Kyrie
    Lowrey
    Dragic
    Wall
    Lilliard
    Rondo

That's exactly what I want out of a PG. One that fits in. Conley plays defense, sets and maintains the tempo, doesn't make too many mistakes, doesn't demand the ball, makes shots consistently, knows when to stay out of the way and when to look for his shots.

That's the best type of PG to have on a good team.

In their primes, I've never seen Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Deron Williams, Derek Rose, Jason Kidd, Tim Hardaway, etc... win an NBA title. Parker and Isiah are the closest to it in recent memory. And Parker plays within the system, the system isn't Parker-centric.

If your point guard is controlling everything and dominating the ball... you might be in trouble and not even know it.

So, Conley in the top 5 means I could only keep 4 of these:

    1. Russell Westbrook
    2. Tony Parker
    3. Chris Paul
    4. Kyrie Irving
    5. Stephen Curry
    6. Damian Lillard
    7. John Wall
    8. Derrick Rose
    9. Goran Dragic
    10. Jeff Teague

Being that the top 5 would be locks, IMHO, you're saying that Conley is better than Rose, Lillard, and Wall? If you think so.

Yes, but Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, and Tony Parker have, so that's not a strong argument.

I like him, I wonder how many would take him over Lillard who in my opinion is a defensive liability.

Tony was never the best player on the Spurs and Magic is a top 5 player of all-time that played every position on the court.

    Conley isn't like Gay.

    Conley is legitimately good.

But not as good as Lowry.

I like Conley, a lot... He to me is the definition of a perfect fit next to harden. I'd absolutely love him on the rockets and have thought about it plenty. I am hoping the grizz start off crappy, Marc demands out, zbo declines and a hopeful fire sale ensues where Conley is on the market.

That being said, he's not top 5 in the league. I think he's surely top 10. Specifically 7.

    1. Chris Paul
    2. Westbrook
    3. Curry
    4.Parker

    5-10
    Lowry
    Dragic
    Conley
    Irving
    Wall
    Lillard

He's definitely better than Zach Randolph at this point.

Curry, Westbrook and Parker don't play defense. But I guess that doesn't matter. Parker can't hit 3s on a consistent basis. Wesbrook and Curry are turnover prone.

Question which pgs in the league can both play defense and shoot the ball? Bledsoe? Defense, but he can't shoot. Rondo? Ditto. There are exactly two players: Chris Paul and Mike Conley.

Again, you all love advanced analytics except when it interferes with what you know.

The facts are that Conley has the least flaws of any point guard this side of Chris Paul. That is a fact and the only arguments that any other pg in the league is better than conley is always going to center around said player's scoring prowess because that's the only skill modern pgs care about except for conley and chris paul.

Conley is a top 3 ball-handler: the other two? Kyrie Irving and Paul. Conley is probably top 5 foul shooter and finisher.

Oh but conley isn't flashy so he sucks. lol
