Report: Bulls make Taj Gibson available for trade talks

Well hello Taj "3rd team trade asset" Gibson.

I'm a huge Gibson fan. He's tenacious.

I wanted him BAD last year would be kinda redundant with Smoove now

 

Well I don't watch enough Bulls games to refute. I mean, there's a drop off statistically but that's to be expected with the addition of Pau and Nikola, no?

Either way. Curious to see where this goes. I wonder what Chicago would aim for considering they have some great depth. Probably go after a wing player.

 

Drop off is probably becuase of Pau. Gasol is putting up numbers but Bulls seem to have taken a step back after adding him.

 

I would love Gibson! His defense is spectacular.

A team that could use him would be PHX and the Bulls need shooting. Maybe Morey can swing a trade between the Bulls, Rockets and Suns. Something like..

Bulls give: Gibson
Bulls get: Green, Pap

Suns give: Dragic, Green
Suns get: Gibson, NOP pick, Shved

Rockets get: Dragic
Rockets give: Pap, , Shved, NOP pick

Bulls get some shooting and a sixth man in Green, plus Pap da gawd.

Suns gets some much needed defense and insurance if Wright leaves as Gibson has three more years on his deal, also a nice 1st rounder. Some real value for Dragic. Green has been in the doghouse lately, anyway.

Rockets cash in the pick, snag a Dragic and his bird rights.

 

Having 2 years at $17.4 million after this season is NOT a problem in moving Gibson. It's a huge bonus for whoever gets him knowing he's signed at a friendly contract for 2 more years instead of being a rental.

The Bulls are justified in expecting a lot in return. They should play hardball until someone makes them a worthy offer. Wouldn't surprise me if he's there until the summer of 2016.

 

With their impending deal for Butler and the salaries they're already carrying I think they would want picks in return so that they won't get killed with luxury tax

 

The Bulls are going to want a player or player to play and contribute right away. Gibson and Tibs have been at odds since Christmas. Gibson has made comments about almost being dealt this summer and more recently said just working hard isn't the solution.

Gasol's lack of lateral quickness has meant that he has play almost exclusively the 5, with Noah at the 4. The Bulls defense has suffered greatly.

The Bulls will want a legitimate 3. Butler is miscast as a 3, he is a 2. Dunleavy being out has killed them and Butlers effectiveness.

The Bulls are a very conservative organization with their own players. Gibson can ask to be dealt, but Chicago is going to want a 3 point shooting SF that can play 35 minutes a game and defend.

 

They want to win now. They are not dealing Gibson for only picks.

We don't need him. He is no better than the 4s we have already.

 

We are pretty loaded at the 4 spot lol, I just hope he doesn't go to a team like Dallas though.

 

I hate to say it but GSW is a great landing spot for Gibson in exchange for Iggy.

 

Dallas needs a backup Center and another PG.

 

Dallas needs all the help it can get on that bench. Either way, I'd be happy to keep him off any West team. He really is an x-factor off the bench some times.
