Agree about the release. Speed matters. Curry isn't considered the best shooter in the game today because he has the highest 3FG%. It's because he can shoot from any position (leaning forward, to the side, falling back), anywhere (jumpshots in the paint and from 5+ feet beyond the 3 point line), and at anytime (quickest release I've ever seen). You literally cannot give him one inch of space anywhere on the court. Isaiah isn't that good, but he's really, really good even by NBA standards.
Not quite in Curry's class. (There has never been anybody in Curry's class.) But......Canaan is special with the basketball in his hands. Much quicker release than guys like Aaron Brooks, even Kyle Lowry, Tony Parker, Eric Bledsoe, Dragic, etc. He can spot up. He can hit off the dribble. He can run up and fire. Twirl around and fire. Run down and fire on the run and hit. Canaan is in the upper echelon of shooters in the NBA right now.
I don't think there is much question irt to Canaan's abilities to shoot the ball. My hope is Morey is hiding him from possible trades vs. a personality conflict with McHale.
I think we're hiding him until after the trade deadline.... same with Capella.... DM knows he needs to make another trade to complete this team and he doesn't want to have to 'throwin' Canaan or Capella.... and to lesser extent KPap... he'd much rather add guys like Terry, Shved, and Dorsey to the Pelicans pick (and maybe PBev)... then if pushed, he throws in NJohnson as a 'young talent' Also hoping that TJones can back and show something before the deadline to increase his value... (hoping to hold on to DMo...)
The other question is with Bevs D. Has it been lockdown lately? Because if not, that makes the advantage Canaan offers on offense that much better.
Right now Canaan is killing it in the D league, tonight he has 7 points on 2-8 shooting and 4 FTA's 8 assists and 5 turnovers in 3 quarters against the beastly Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Still finished with 19 and 10. With the way the Vipers run their offense, it's almost impossible to be high percentage from the field. He still had a strong 4th quarter. Want to see him back in the rotation as soon as possible
Yet another brutal game for Canaan at the half with 5 points on 2-12 shooting and he's already been blocked 4 times but the good news is that he has 6 assists and only one turnover.
I'd sign the petition in a heartbeat. Cp3 admitted that rockets are lucky to have Canaan especially as a 3rd stringer.
I'd imagine every PG in the NBA on every team not called the Rockets would love Canaan being named starter.
we were in that game all until middle of the 4th when harden made a cuople of stupid blundering turnovers...and it was game over
Yep. But this is clutchfans, where many are blinded by the greenness of the grass that always seems to be over there.
