During the broadcast of the ORL/HOU game, Bill, Bull and Clyde talked often about how deep the roster is. I tend to agree, but do wonder if this is a fair assessment or at least partly results from homerism.

It seems to me that the team is certainly deeper than the vast majority of NBA teams in terms of the number of guys who at least don't give me a sense of impending doom when they enter the game. They kind of remind me of the kind of depth that the 08/09 squad had.

I feel pretty good about the players projected to be in the rotation, except Motiejunas and Jones and even these two have some potential to be useful. Even some of the projected 3rd string guys-- Smith, Brooks and Brewer-- are unlikely to embarrass themselves if they have to play.

In fact, I am thinking that if we separate the team into a (Minnesota Timberwolves-style) "Rockets Light" squad and a "Rockets Dark" squad, they are probably both better-than-average starting 5s as compared to most teams.

Am I overrating the team's depth?

With Linsanity, Light Squad beats Dark Squad 4 to 2.

Hmmm.... is this what we are debating here...?

I think it's a lot more fitting if you swapped Casspi with D-Mo.

    Promoting racial segregation is classless.

Our depth came from shallow to very deep once we saw how Casspi plays :D

    I don't see a 3rd star there. Where's the 3rd star?

DMo is lighter, but I think Casspi is a better PF. We'll see. Smith could well get in front of Jones, too.

    Upper left hand corner.

cleverly disguised who sits where in a prison cafeteria!

if the whites can get the blacks to iso, leaving howard without a shank, then the whites win easily. but if they arm howard and the blacks claim parsons, the blacks win hands down and get to operate the cafeteria.

Your posts are usually quality, but I'm not digging the color-based teams. You could split them by height, facial hair, alphabet, whatever. . . .

Put Parson's black ass on the right side and that's probably our starting lineup.

Funny, interesting to ponder, and challenges my notions of "dark" and "bright". Just for fun, I'd love to see this as a scrimmage.

I'm gonna get slammed for this, but is that Brewer next to Parsons? Is he even going to get much burn in the rotation? I haven't seen much potential in the preseason.

Switch Parsons and Brewer and that could be our second and first units respectively.

Second unit of Asik, Dmo, Casspi, Garcia, And Lin sounds like a 8th seed in the east last year.

    OK. Shallow. One star. Appropriate.
