Im sorry but this guy is a scrub. Undrafted talent never pans out the way it does in the NFL. Why should anyone be excited about 1. Someone who may never make the team. 2. IF he does, he will rot on the bench and never play. Shaun Livingston is miles ahead of this guy talent wise.
Livingston looked pretty good a year or two ago when he played the Rockets. I'm still interested in Machado though. It was a pretty deep draft. He's got the play-making of Ish with a better shot. Who knows...
Yup. So was Ben Wallace, Avery Johnson, John Starks, Bruce Bowen, Brad Miller, Raja Bell, Udonis Haslem, and some guy named Jeremy Lin. Undrafted players never pan out though. /ignorance.
What did this guy do to make his draft stock fall so far? I remember a point when he was projected as a late first rounder! Anyhow, if isaiah thomas could be the last pick and a top 10 rookie in 2011, why cant machado be an interesting prospect for 2012?
You guys act like Hayes, or Lin, or Bell, or Starks (my favorite Knick for helping the Rockets win a title), or Brad Miller are players that dont have serious deficiencies in their game that lead to their undrafted status. Lin is the WEAKEST of them to pick as an argument. He had 2 good weeks, you know who else had 2 good weeks? FLIP MURRAY. Just sayin.
You can't lead the NCAA in Assist and be a scrub sorry it's not possible. Especially since he played where he did, I mean it's not like he was passing to anybody special!
take a chance on him... if he becomes a diamond in the rough-great. If he is awful and loses us games- great, helping us tank more. Win-Win situation. This is the season to grab some young hungry unproven talent, and see what we can make of it. Even if you have someone proven as Kevin Durant as a rookie, you could still end up picking in the top 5... My best case scenario is our rookies show flashes of greatness, but struggle to get a winning record, and we have a lot of promising young talent entering the draft next season with a few 1st round picks, one being in the top 5.
Okay? No player Is perfect? But if this kid makes the team or has any impact at all then it is a great pick up! you probably were hating on Parsons last year saying "he is a 2nd rounder there Is no way you can play in the NBA if you are not drafted top 3!"
Remember when Andre Miller lead the NBA in assists with Cleveland in 2002 with the all star team of Ricky Davis, Bimbo Coles, and Ilgauskas? Leading the NCAA in anything is not special. If i am not mistaken, Aubrey Coleman lead the NCAA in PPG a few years back...where is he now? Floating around the D-League or Europe.
I didnt like Parsons because I value 2 way players, defensive specialists at the 3 are a bonus when you have a team that can afford to play 4 on 5 on offense. He has come around a bit toward the end of the season but his shooting woes hurt us sometimes.
Just sayin man, leading the NCAA in Assists does NOT preclude you from being a scrub. Just look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_Division_I_men's_basketball_season_assists_leaders How many of the last 10 yr assist leaders even made it to the big show? ONE and he just retired.
Maybe because I'm a short white Dude I over value pass first point guard a bit lol Still I think Machado will surprise you!
Why even knock Machado? Nobody is saying he's going to be the next big thing. People are just hoping he makes the team and contributes... There's nothing wrong with that.
