Looked through 8 pages of threads on The Dish and didn't see this. Apparently the Clippers owner has a problem with black people. How hard will the players on the team play for him moving forward? They will say they are playing for the guy next to them, but it will be interesting to see in the next week or this coming off season.

This isn't breaking news of any sort. The Clippers owner was a racist prick last year and the year before, and the years before that. No fire sale commenced and, in fact, guys like Chris Paul and Doc Rivers signed on with the Clippers with the owners dirty laundry already pretty well aired.

You didn't need to look through 8 pages... it's near the top of page 1. And like 'NotInMyHouse' said, this isn't anything new. He's been a dirty racist scumbag pretty much forever, and everyone in the NBA has known this.

ie: look up marge schott, who owned the Reds at one time called her own players Eric Davis and Dave Parker, her "million-dollar n*****s. They still played. Money talks and idiots exist and unfortunately in life you have to do deals with the devil to earn money. Definitely doesn't make it right but that's how it is for now.

If the Clippers players and coach collectively quit on the team, this will be done soon.

If you guys haven't learned by now that the only thing NBA players care about is getting paid, you haven't followed the league long enough.

If the NBA Owners decided to end everything with Donald Sterling, they could and do it instantly. But unfortunately, money makes the world go round and round.

If I was a minority player...I would not even suit up. There are some things that are greater than the game of basketball. This is one such cause!

Sterling has been know to be scum for a long time. The league hasn't been able to get him to sell yet. So I don't expect him to be force out. Will be interesting to see how Silver deals with it though.

These comments are minor compared to other things he has done.

You are under contract. Sterling never had anything to do with the Clippers other than owning it. Come on... If you can't separate Sterling from a team he has very little to do with other than owning, you are weak minded.

Tolerating racism makes you weak minded, not the other way around.

Man. This is good trash talk material. If I was another player, I'd tell them they're slaves.

the black clippers players have no pride as black men and would rather play for and support a racist that hates their guts.

sometimes pride and self-respect is more important than money (that they already have a lot of) and championships

Dude that was like decades ago. This is a different world now. Plus, I think she was banned from her own stadium/MLB functions for life.

Im sure their dreams and work have nothing to do with one person's beliefs about them.

Theyre in the playoffs representing the city they play for. Lets stop with the slave and uncle tom references because you know its getting to pathetic levels.

    Money has power.
Its one thing when someone in your organization, a coworker, or colleague is the one being openly racist. Its different when the guy that is writing your checks is racist.

I'm sure most of us would just ignore it and keep working, but these guys in the NBA are not struggling for money. Pride very much plays into these guys lives, remember the Trayvon Martin incident? Don't pretend like the NBA's black community does not care.

Why do you guys act like this is new news? You don't think people didn't know Sterling was a racist before this? Have you bothered to look into his history?
