As I always say, they should just split the award into Best Overall Player, and Most Valuable to Team. Or even more awards with that can actually be defined. "MVP" has no definitive meaning, which is great for the sports media, because if it did, then they'd have to actually find something useful to talk about instead being able to debate incessantly what "MVP" even means EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Here's another quick, fair solution the media would hate: let the players themselves choose the MVP like they did until the '80-'81 season when the sportswriters took over the voting. In fact, do that in all sports. Sportswriters who have votes writing constantly about who should be MVP or HOF or whatever is just a big greasy, disgusting circle jerk.
