When was the last time there was a thread here declaring that Paul Pierce would be the undisputed greatest player in the history of basketball if he wins one more title?

Kobe and Pierce are held to different standards because they're different players.

If you look through the Lakers vs. Celtics thread Pierce has been getting called out since Game 2. His game 1 numbers looked good but he got most of those numbers when they were down double digits.

 

Enough with the Stern conspiracy talk. Do you really think the Lakers didn't deserve to win that game?

 

You could make that complaint if the game ended and there was only a single-digit margin... but it was like a 20 point lead... game wasn't close.

 

paul pierce plays like a soccer player. Every time he is touched he acts like he got stabbed 22 times. Remember when he seriously "hurt" his knee in the finals and got wheeled out like he's kirilenko, only to come back miraculously come back and play like nothing happened.

You're leaving out Derek Fisher, the current king of flopping. Kobe is quite the flopper as well. Before this series, I hadn't really noticed how much of a flopper he is.

 

Pierce and Rondo took the ball to the basket several times and got fouled with no call. However, they still would have lost the game pretty bad even if they got those calls. They lost because they didn't show up. That doesn't change the fact that there were some missed calls.
