I have always said the need to change it to the rules of like soccer. Anything past the elbow(fore arms, hands) should be a foul. If it's only the body that touches then it should be clean

"NBA referees have the most difficult officiating job in sports, with so many split-second decisions in real time."

Yes, luckily hockey and football aren't played in real time. Wait..

That proviso should read ", with so many players with halo rules to account for, and so many guys like Chris Paul who flop without repercussion."

Will poorly graded officials be excluded from the playoffs? Will they ref less games? Do they have to retake ref school courses? What's the point of this transparency if it doesn't lead to correction?

You'd have to think so, otherwise they're just warning us about future games officiated by the stinkers.

I just hope we can gamble on what grades these predictable ass refs will get.

I wonder if this had anything to do with this B.S. Report. Around the 47 minute mark. Talking about SportVU tracking of refs being removed from the data.

They've graded officials forever, and ones that don't meet the standard don't ref the playoffs. This is just making some of the grades public.

The sample report does not have a column on which ref made the call, or should have made the call on a non-call.

Thanks for that info. So this transparency effectively means nothing since we still have Joey Crawford refereeing playoff games along with other crooked refs.

NBA will still protect their referees, another bogus rule.

Well it will be out in the open for us to criticize what the league graded their refs for that game. I don't think they are protecting their referees if the fans and media cause an uproar over badly officiated games. They will have no reason to lie in the reports if both the fans and media will also have access to the same video replays and reports. I'm sure badly graded refs will get heat and will cause the league to do something. It's a step in the right direction for sure.

This does nothing to change how games are called. It just gives us forum guys something to talk about.
