He'll be held in prison, charged with a crime, put on trial and most likely convicted and then sentenced to some kind of punishment involving confinement. He won't however have any apologist cite a 1000+ year old collection of stories to justify his actions, or have the local or state governments bail him out on a literal interpretation of his holy book, and his detractors will not be accused of apostasy, and during his punishment he will likely not have any appendages removed. Also, there will likely be no court sanctioned honor killings, etc, etc.

There also won't be any Christian leaders assuring the public that Christians don't believe in killing wizards.

There won't be anyone pointing fingers at evangelical leaders that warn their congregations about the dangers of wizards tempting their children to eternal hell for getting them to play World of Warcraft or watching Harry Potter movies.

Or pointing to elected leaders like Senator Michelle Bachman who make bat**** insane claims, informed by their Christianity, such as the conspiracy by Satan to make public school children gay , that God assured her that Obamacare would be repealed, or that he told her to run for president.

Nor will there be anyone making the point that the rhetoric by these Christian leaders aren't at all different than the odd things said by clerics in Iran, Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan on the subject of sorcery and the urgent need to stamp it out.

There won't be anyone posting links to the many websites and videos on youtube, like the ones viewed by Isaiah Martin that he claimed inspired him to murder someone.

Or a discussion about the particular video itself, and if it or it's authors were in some way responsible.

There won't be anyone talking about the many passages in the bible, admonishing readers to kill wizards, or what in the Gospel of Matthew inspired him to slice someone's throat with a knife.

There will be apologists like bobmarley who will claim no true Christian does these things or that the guy was just mentally ill, which is exactly what muslim and jewish apologists do when similar stories are written about lunatics that do things like this and claim to be inspired by their respective religion.

Considering that Christianity is an even older religion that Islam, makes far more supernatural claims, and is every bit as bronze age in it's playground sense of justice, it's treatment of women, it's defense of slavery, and it's disregard for non-believers, particularly Jews, why shouldn't the criminal violent actions of its adherents beg a similar critical examination of the religion itself and its leaders?

And before anyone accuses me of hyperbole, we are talking about a Christian in Oklahoma that slit someone's throat because he believed the man was a wizard, and that as a Christian it was his moral duty to do so.

Deji, you sound like a Christianophobe.

Perhaps you should be banned or controlled.

If people were to actually take this stance, it would be considered Christianophobia. Ironically, you've just supported his point and essentially agreed that ATW is either a Islamaphobe or a hypocrite.

    Which one is it?

I was obviously satirizing the people who want to silence the Islam critics.

No one here wants to silence Islam critics. This is the straw man you keep inventing.

ATW crosses the line of criticism and goes into the realm of racism. Not all of his stuff does, but in a few instances he has. I think calling him out on that is fair game.

You have to know what the difference is between criticism and prejudice.

I won't be worried until he starts accusing fellow posters of being wizards. Then, I'll be very worried.

This is true. Maybe ATW should limit his Muslim done somebody wrong threads to once every two weeks or so or possibly keep adding to an existing thread so the whole front page is not taken up by the last 7 or 8 of them.

    This is the radical Christian.[IMG]

And apparently, it was basically a beaheading. Pretty awful. Here is the "wizard," a nineteen year-old metalhead son of a state trooper.

More about it here and here.

It's not even that. It's one thing to say Islam needs reform and these acts need to be addressed. It's true that Islam and that part of the world has a lot of backwards things going on.

But to say that ISLAM IS THE CAUSE and ROOT of terrorism????

That's where I think it crosses the plane of criticism and becomes pejorative.
