Call me crazy if you want, but I would love to get this guy off waivers from Charlotte. I know some of you will say that he is troubled because of his drug arrest, but he deserves a second chance and Houston would be the perfect place for him. I love Porter's energy and he can jump through the roof. His shot isn't all that great, but he knows how to create his own shot and is very quick. He also is a good rebounder for a forward his size.

In the two games last season that he played in against the Rockets he really impressed me. He hustled more than any guy on the court in both of those games. Some team is going to get really lucky by picking this guy up off waivers. I have a feeling that Chicago will pick him up.

Am I alone in my opinion?

I thought he was playing for Golden State, starting too?

    Or am I mistaken?

You're pretty much solo on this one. He was late on several occasions including reporting after the trade, thats why he was waived. After he spends a couple of yrs in the developmental leagues either here or abroad, he'll will have a sense of appreciation for the nba, and maybe come back and be a player. Thats why I wish the nbdl was affiliated like minor leagues. I wish we had our own team with players and coaches, then we could send langhi, collier, and brown down there to keep playing. Then later if we needed them we could pull them up and keep rolling. They really need to do something about that.

I'm not so sure that a move to Houston is the solution for anyone who likes drugs but isn't supposed to use them.

Editorial note* - There is a difference between this and a drug problem. Soeme of us just like recreational use. It doesn't mean that we're robbing liquor stores.

I loved Porter out of Auburn,he made that team. When drafted by GS I was happy that he went to a team that I liked. When he was involved in the trade before the season started and sent to the Hornets I thought he would be released.

If he gets the chance hewill be a good player. As Crow said he hustles his butt off and will get a lot of boards and putbacks for his size,he just needs to work on his outside shot.He could be a Shawn Marion type of player.

I would love to have him here but we dont have the room for him right now with Rice,Walt, and Morris,I would like to see him go to the Cavs to get some playing time to show everyone the SI cover boy he used to be!Maybe Charlotte can play him like they did Ricky Davis and Eddie Robinson, who knows.

We already have a defensive minded small forward who runs the floor like a deer, can swat shots, is a strong rebounder and doesn't command the ball on offense. His name is Terrance Morris, he is cheaper than Porter, and to the best of my knowledge he doesn't have a raging drug habit or an attitude problem (just good chemistry with Steve Francis). IMO, he will be better than pot-head Porter.

He looks like a crack head. He belongs in Miami with Sam Mack.

He was part of the last trade between GS and Philly and Charlotte involving Derrick Coleman.

Hey Countingcrow - I agree. I was impressed by this guy when we played GS. I would not mind trying him out on a small contract.

Speaking of Langhi - he sure didn't look like he had a sprained ankle or anything else wrong with him when I was watching the shootaround last week before the LAC game... :D
