Let's hear it. How many people here are going to order the Tyson fight on Saturday night? I'll admit, I will be ordering it. My friends and I will each pay $5 so then nobody has to pay the full $50.
Not me. I like boxing, but I hate what has become of the sport. I won't give them my patronage. Oh - and Tyson is a washed-up moron who is only fighting because he's not smart enough to hang on to his money. He'll go down in the 4th (assuming he doesn't bite off a body part).
Tyson is still the only guy I'd pay to see fight...and I plan on watching it after I get back from watching Roger blank the Blue Jays.
I always pay to see Tyson fight. No matter what you think of him, he's the most charismatic guy in sports. I'll follow his career for life.
that's my thought. the press conferences are far more interesting...and they're free. the fights are duds.
A lot of places seem to be showing this fight for free. I know the BW3 in Royal Oaks and the Fox and Hound just down the street are.
I love boxing, but there is no way in hell I would ever pay for that match. I don't care if it's 50 cents a man - washed up Tyson vs. tomato can just perpetuates this crap so that the casual fan is deluded into thinking that this is the 'state of boxing'
I have a gig, but if I had the night off, I would not pay for it. I would head over to RM95s neighborhood and see it for free...if I absolutely had nothing else to do. I don't mind paying PPV for a good fight, but this will not be a good fight.
I would love to see it and I've never watched a boxing match.. gotta love that he is turing into a actor with all his press talk... "I'm gonna gut him like a fish.." "sit down, you're gonna get him killed!!" "He's a huge tomato can" Gotta love Mike Tyson right now, not for the fighting, but for the quotes he spits out..
Last Tyson fight I paid for when when he got bashed by Lennox Lewis. I really enjoyed that fight but I knew that after that.....it wasnt worth paying to see him again.
The Tyson fight is being shown on Showtime PPV. Maybe Showtime will replay it next weekend or sometime next week. Speaking of HBO, it has its own boxing card going on Saturday night, from Madison Square Garden. 130 lb division Kid Diamond (20-0, 13 KO's) vs. Joel Casamoyer (31-3, 19 KO's) and the Main Event in the 140 lb. division Miguel Cotto (23-0, 19 KO's) vs. Muhammad Abdullaev (15-1, 12 KO's) The story behind the Cotto/Abdullaev match is that they faced each other in the 2000 Olympics. Abdullaev beat him in the 1st round and went on to win the Gold Medal. Now they have both become successful professional boxers and Cotto wants revenge and this battle of up and coming superstars! Factor in that this weekend is the Puerto Rican Day Parade is on Sunday and HBO has set up an intriguing storyline! Thousands of Puerto Ricans will be in the stands cheering on Cotto! And it's in HD! I'll be recording both on DVR so it will be one night of entertaining boxing!
