Post from 4 years ago. Seems even MORE true TODAY than it was then. (How the "Talking to one person at a time" thing is way overstated ) Its still bad form to immerse yourself on phone with others with live company nearby. Can lead to DIRECT effect on (non) productivity. Even TODAY during a WORK MEETING, there was a girl who would NOT PUT AWAY her phone while she was actually on job being directly TRAINED. While manager was directing attention toward her, she even left the room to go "do something real quick BRB" ...and when she was asked to demonstrate something, it was obvious she didnt pay attention to anything... (That one etiquette-based thing aside, those other things definitely are going way of the dinosaur)
A couple of years ago my uncle who is in his late 50's was talking to my cousin who is in her early teens about how telephones used to be plugged into the wall and and how you had to turn a rotor to dial them. She got this really confused look and after a few moments asked him "How did you check your internet then?"
