The trade tonight (Asik to NO for future 1st) signifies one thing: Morey's prize is Kevin Love

Think about it. Yes, it does clear cap space, I understand that, which signifies (on the surface) to most that it must be to make a run at Melo or 'Bron (or perhaps both). However, it seems to me that acquiring yet another 1st round pick is just another enticer to use in a potential Timberwolves deal in acquiring Kevin Love, a guy they know damn well has no intention of staying in Minnesota for the long-haul. It's fun to dream about a 'Bron/Melo tandem, but a Harden-Howard-Love trio would be the best 1-2-3 in the league by a wide margin.

Thoughts? Perhaps I'm delving too much into the "conspiracy theorist" in me. Still yet, I think it's a legitimate possibility.

I don't like trading a player to a team in your own division.

no...seriously...it just means the Rockets have options...and trying to be able to offer up to the max for LBJ/Melo...Love and the Timberwolves have yet to show interest in anything we have that isnt Dwight or Harden.

Unless! Morey gives zero F&*ks because Rockets about to become unstoppable?

If it is Kevin Love, why Rockets cleared cap space? The real reason is the most obvious and straight-forward one: Lebron and Melo

We play all Western teams 4 times anyways, really not that big of a deal.

What? They acquired a first rounder AND cleared cap space in order to lock Kevin Love up long-term.

You guys are missing the point, we are looking to acquire all 3 of them.

    C:Howard
    PF: Love
    SF: Melo
    SG: Harden
    PG: James

    Dynasty. Not 1...not 2...not 3...

If you could somehow do a three way deal say Lin to Philly, and Jones, Parsons, # 25, NO pick to Minnesota. You could likely absorb a lot of the TWolves bad contracts along with Love starting with Martin who honestly isn't that bad of a contract.

Morey's prize is another asset that can be sent out in a trade without any salary matching or used directly by us. Morey doesn't deal in absolutes he deals in possibilities. It definitely makes a hypothetical Love trade package stronger.

Ya know, at this point if we did get Kevin Love....that would be slightly disappointing....

Can't believe I just said that...

I think as posters have mentioned.. I think they are open to a ton of possibilities. Now they have the picks to make it happen.

I was thinking the exact thing. How long have we all been clamoring for that stretch 4. Love is the target. I think these other deals have fallen through for Love because Minni is waiting on the Rockets to get better picks. And sorry ladies, but it's gonna cost Parsons as well.

They can pretty much go from Lebron, to melo, to Love. Strikeout and you have enough money to sign some nice bench/role players.
