I don't know if they've changed the mascot by now, but back when I was in Lamar High School, it was the Redskins. Nothing too weird except that Mirabeau Buonaparte Lamar was known to be a Native American killer. Irony.

Itasca Wampuscats (no such animal) Roscoe Plowboys Groesbeck Goats Mason Cowpunchers Italy Gladiators Hutto Hippos Lamesa Golden Tornados thats all I can think of off the top of my head that hasn't already been mentioned oh yea...Port Isabel Tarpons (Imagine the rivals jokes there) and theres a "Stingerees" somewhere near the coast..can't remember the city I do like the Springtown Porcupines..they used to have a cool-looking Porcupine costumed mascot
they used to be the Frisco Fightin' Coons..but had to change their name (I didn't know that was a racial slur)
