    http://www.nba.com/draft/2013/prospects/isaiah-canaan/

    Strengths
    - Strong, physical player
    - Good 3-point shooter
    - Accurate pull-up jump shooter
    - Good free-throw shooter
    - Great competitor

    Weaknesses
    - Doesn’t have prototypical size
    - Not an overwhelming athlete

    NBA projection
Canaan has been projected as a second-round pick. Some analysts question whether he’s tall and long enough to defend in the NBA. Some wonder if he’s a shoot-first point guard. But careful analysis of his college career shows that he did what he needed to do for his team to be successful. NBA scouts like his understanding of the game.
    2012-13 Season
Canaan was chosen the Ohio Valley co-player of the year as he closed out his fine career as part of the winningest class in Murray State history (106). The Racers fell short of their goal of the NCAA tournament, losing out to OVC newcomer Belmont, but Canaan put together the fifth-best scoring total in school history (676 points) and averaged 21.8. He also led his team in assists and steals.

    Key statistics
    21.8 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 4.3 apg, 3.1 tpg, 1.5 spg, 36.5 mpg, .431 FG, .370 3PT, .822 FT

    Cool statistic
Per Synergy Sports, Canaan was the No. 1 shooter off the dribble in the country, averaging 1.1 points per possession.

    Reminds me of...
    Jameer Nelson

    What Insiders Say
    Murray State coach Steve Prohm
“Isaiah has had a lot of responsibility to shoulder since last season and he handled it in a first-class manner thanks to his humility and character. The sky is the limit for his future and I'm proud of Isaiah for the person he has become.”

    What Outsiders Say
    Auburn coach Tony Barbee
“He has the ability to score and get everybody involved.”
