A 6'10 PF from Florida, with solid ball handling skills, some post moves, and a 3 pt shot. He's only 23. Anyone watch him play before? I wonder if Morey is interested at all. He could be redundant with DMo and Jones, but Murphy may be better suited for the role DMo is trying to play. Although I like DMo, he needs to be on a team that gives him consistent touches in the post to maximize his potential.
Have not watched much of him in the NBA (if he even played), but I watched plenty of his UF games. I thought he was soft as hell, and best case scenario was Matt Bonner 2.0. I'm sure Pop could squeeze some production out of him, but I don't think he'd fit on the Rockets.
lol I just found an old post I made about him. Clearly watching him suck in the tournament changed my mind.
I think he's worked on his strength and weight, since he got drafted. At least from his summer league highlights, he looks like a better athlete than Bonner.
I think they wanted to bring in some guards instead. With Noah and Gibson, I guess they figured they needed more options in the backcourt instead.
We've got Kenny Kadji at RGV now. He's not looking very good. I'd sign Murphy up at RGV and see if he knocks down shots.
Jazz claimed him... <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/fQxm-CEtZ78?hl=en_US&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/fQxm-CEtZ78?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Jazz waived Biedrins to make room...Bulls players and coaches were very happy he was picked up because, " he works too hard," according to Taj Gibson. Biedrins could be someone to look at next season.
By cutting him and signing Brewer the Bulls would still avoid the luxury tax if and when Joakim Noah makes the All-NBA Team, and earns a $500k bonus. I'm not saying Noah should make the First Team, he's my favorite player and I'm a Bulls fan, Dwight has had the better year, but the novelty of a new guy will probably lead to Joakim earning more votes than Dwight.
