Truth. I was debating with a friend who's a Mavs fan earlier today on maintaining flexibility. He was arguing that cubes did what he did to be flexible enough to reload, but having cap space doesn't mean flexibility just that you're locked into having that space without assurances of getting players to use the space on. The way morey's orchestrated RFA's, negotiated value and highly movable contracts and contracts with team option ensures true flexibilty where he can keep quality players on great contracts or move them if an opportunity comes up. He's in control of what happens. Impressive maneuvering and attention to even the smallest of contracts (like hayes for example).
While there are moves I'd make vs what he does (Dragic vs Lin), I agree that he sees things in flexibility that I don't. When we signed Kpap to a 2 year contract with team 2nd year at THAT price I thought why? That's way too much for untested talent even if we can cut him next year. But the value of the non-guaranteed contract is key. Without that, we would have had to cough up someone decent just to make the salaries match for Ty. And it was that non-guaranteed money that help make up Denver's mind. Keeping the flexibility and waiting for the opportunity - that has been one of Morey's best qualities.
Anything short of the WCF will be a disappointment. I'm sorry. The goal is a championship and I believe if healthy the Rockets can combat any of the other top 5 teams in the league. I hate how I have to say if healthy. It's bs. I was watching that video of Lawson posted on the other page and it infuriated me. Other than the Spurs series they've ALWAYS had it easy for them. Nuggets were missing probably their best player in Danilo Gallinari which really just messed the Nuggets up. That team just doesn't win 57 games with veterans, youth, great players all around and one of the best coaches of all time if healthy to a young team that has Mark Freaking Jackson as the head coach. It's bullsh!t and then of course Donald Sterling just comes out of no where and messes up the focus for all Clippers players. The fact that the series went to 7 games is dumb. Clippers are much better than that. They freaking beat the Spurs the next season with the same core, and took the Thunder to 6 games which they actually had a real good chance of winning. and they let the Warriors almost pull out another upset cause of Sterling's racism? and don't get me started on their huge amount of luck during their championship run. While I can't take that away from them I can definitely not respect it one single bit. I'm so glad Ty Lawson hates those light skinned assholes as much as I do. The Warriors got the best of us for ONE season, but that's all they get. We got Lawson now. We have Harden quickly proving to the world why he's better than all the players they've said he isn't better than. We got Dwight who showed again that he can still be that great and elite defensive anchor. and we got Trevor Ariza who is a trained martial artist who will annihilate any light skinned foe. I'm so ready for next June. I want every team healthy. No excuses. Kyrie better stay healthy. CP3 better not pull no hamstring. Tim Duncan better stay as youthful as he possibly can. Durant and Westbrook better play all 82 games plus the at least 12 we're going to let them have in the playoffs. But steph curry you better pray your ankle does snap in half sometime in March because the world isn't ready for the embarrassment Houston will give you if we see you in a playoff series and I know you definitely won't be.
Lawson is fast FAST FAAAAAAAST.... His penetration and passing with the finishers that we've got... I'd bet money this is Harden's most efficient season as a Rocket... Dwight's getting even more easy buckets. MY GAWD we finna be a FORCE outchea This season needs to start right nowwww
I loved our season last year. Wcf exceeded my expectations and they made me so proud. But I did find myself missing our potent offense. Lawson should bring back that potent offense while keeping the ariza bev defense. I don't see how we are not significantly better and a lot of it is because our superstar harden is not selfish and would like to share the ball with a pg like Ty law
I believe that Ty Lawson will surprise us all in a good way. He wants to win an NBA Championship as a Houston Rocket! Go Ty! Go Houston Rockets!
I think 8 assists a game. Harden should end up with 5-6 assists a game. They will create a lot of mismatches for the opposing teams.
If he is saying anything, then he is not properly rehabbing. Right now he is or should be cut off from the outside world. I am sure he is happy about being outside the ****hole that is the Denver Nuggets though.

Ty and Harden could end up a Francis & Cat duo: both good friends, like to live it up and both best with ball in their hands.
he's not cut off from the outside world. if people think that he's locked in some rehab center he's not. there's footage of him in free spirit working with Johnny Stephene's yesterday. For those that don't know who that is, he's a ball handling coach many pro players work with, who started his own brand of Handle Life.
I think he can get 10/game even with Harden dishing it out. We have much better weapons around Ty than he had last season in Denver. He pretty much had Faried, Chandler, Foye, and Gallo as reliable options to finish plays that he set up. Here he's gonna have Harden, Dwight, Ariza, Cap, Brewer, TJ that's an embarrassment of weapons.
Has anyone on the Rockets besides Morey and Bev even acknowledged this acquisition? Just curious why the other vets aren't excited about the acquisition. My is guess they aren't big on advertising their sentiments on social media, but still find it odd they haven't mentioned looking forward to playing with him.
Brewer said he's excited. Harden and Dwight don't really post personal thoughts on Twitter. It's more of a brand account for them. They don't really talk to the media over the summer.
