It's not Seinfeld (sorry, Curb fans!), but it's one of the funniest comedies on television. I was put off by David's personality (his character, but he essentially plays himself) at first, but eventually, you "get it," so try again. If you're like me, you can use all the laughs you can get. -
I was 12 minutes into the first episode at the part with the Girl Scout and I just stopped, this is like watching a no-hitter.
I couldn't breathe during the last episode. I didn't expect LD to come out this strong. "Enjoy your anti-Semitic chicken ****hole!" Just hearing Funkhouser speak makes me laugh.
sorry Seinfeld fans is more like it! one thing about episode 3- the teenager who plays Sammy was horrible at improv acting. she was not funny at all and it kind of brought down the episode for me. it must be hard being a teenage actor working with the likes of Larry, Jeff, and Susan... oh god was the palestinian chicken episode all kinds of wrong. I loved the analogy to the ground zero mosque
"If Rabin can break bread with Arafat then I can have chicken at this anti-semetic ****hole" Funkhouser was on fire this episode.

Why did Larry move to California in the first place? It wasn't due to him wanting to make a career there, Im sure this has been disclosed in the show.
it wasn't? the Seinfeld pilot was picked up in '89, and he was a NYC writer/comedian before that. there are interviews with Jerry Seinfeld that say Larry is a product of his own environment. he was the same as a poor New Yorker than he is as a Californian TV exec with all this money. you can put him anywhere and he will still be the old Larry David.
There's also the fact that Seinfeld was actually filmed in LA... not NYC. (I know, responding to a 5 year old thread... but it was just bumped for other reasons).
Aside from burying the hatchet with Michaels, I hope that was the reason for the Bern Your Enthusiasm sketch on SNL; otherwise it just seemed like traded in his legacy for the chance to replay a character once more. Incidentally there should probably be a link for this. i wouldn't expect Garlin was available due to Goldbergs, contractually or otherwise; and I figure Hines is busy enjoying her lie with RFK, Jr.
