Bob Ryan made a great point, all these terrible teams in the NBA have these ridiculous introductions before an NBA game when they just go out and suck on the court. All of it was copied from the 90s Bulls era, and now even the terrible Sixers will put together these outrageous introductions before the game.

Awesome game introductions should be saved for teams that actually deserve it, does everyone else agree?

If the product sucks on the court might as well give the fans a good introduction.

Anyone complaining about this is just being petty

i disagree. the player introductions are part of the fan experience. if the rockets were under .500 you would not be making this thread.

    i highly disagree.
you want to get your fans excited and pumped even if it is a below .500 team.

it also helps to pump up your team.

regardless, even if teams are below .500, there are only a 4-5 teams in the NBA that are REALLY bad...the others can beat any team on any given night.

exactly. people who are coming to the game obviously LIKE their team enough to spend the money, record or otherwise.

i remember when memphis was an up and coming team and they would play q da kid intro, it was bad ass!

Do you really expect teams like the Lakers and Knicks to do that?

Naaah, Fans pay money to see their teams. Even if the sucks, at least let them get hyped for the start of the game.

disagree, atleast this part of the game atmosphere gets the players ready and excited for the actual game even if they do suck. also for the fans as well. these guys are professionals, this part of the game is something they all deserve it. its no easy making an NBA roster and those introductions are experiences players dream of.

No matter how badly the team sucks, it's still one of only 30 franchises. Every fan of every team deserves a memorable experience. Have Bob tell that to the 7 year old going to his first Sixers game. Then we'll see where he stands.

More like you must want to win the game to get an intro like that. If you're the Knicks, okay, go for it. If you're the Sixers and half your fans know things will turn out better if you lose, you have to introduce your team to the Undertaker's music instead.

It's part of the fan experience no matter if the team is tanking or sucking. Thank goodness we don't have this problem!

These intros are fun, but really do look ridiculous when they're performed for a 25% capacity crowd in Philadelphia or Orlando.

You wanna force NBA teams to put out a crappier production?

    No.
What the hell, there are fans for every team, sometimes you don't have to be .500 or above to support your ****ing team.
Ridiculous to think just because a team sucks, they don't deserve to do starting intros and give their fans some semblance of excitement and hope...

Yeaah and paint the arena gray or black.

Also drop buckets of water on the fans that support them, how dare they support bad teams and hope for a good experience???!!!

Imho, I disagree. Even the lowliest of teams have some of the best players on the planet. The players deserve some distinction. The fans paid to be entertained. Otherwise you can just watch at home on your HD Flat screen in a comfortable environment free from the distractions of NBA basketball game.

    Great idea, OP.

Teams below 50%: no special introductions.
Teams below 33%: no introductions at all, must dim lights for visiting team.
Teams below 25%: no introductions, no smiling, no high fives, no chest bumps allowed before, during, or after games.
