Honestly I would prefer to roll with Capela as our starting center rather than sign Whiteside. Why, like something else pointed out he could be the second coming of Larry Sanders but just quit playing motivated basketball in general. I for one would not be the first to back a huge guaranteed contract for a player with known motor issues. If he continues to play with a sense of urgency and continues to improve then a "max" contract would be deemed worthy. Then again Mozgov just got a 4 year/ 64 million dollar contract so it's safe to say teams are willing to overlook age and possible red flags if they think its worth it. I would prefer not to have the Rockets sign him to any major deal. As much as many people trash Harden, he's shown to be a very capable 2 way player (not anywhere near the level as Paul George or Kawhi Leonard... but I digress) when he's motivated. Maybe this coming season he'll actually remember to give efforts on both sides of the ball. Our locker room doesn't have enough vets to keep Whiteside in check anyways.
