I understand everyone wanting a "point" guard but if you slide Harden into that slot (after all, he's our de facto facilitator anyways) and put Butler next to him with Ariza at the 3....

Who's going to chase Chris Paul, Westbrook, and Parker around the court in this scenario?

Plus you can't tell me Jimmy Butler can't hold his own defensively against Russell Westbrook, Tony Parker, Mike Conley, etc.

We're using Beverley now pretty much as a 3 and D player without the playmaking responsibilities already.

Dragic is the perfect guy to play next to Harden. He can play off the ball when needed and cover point guards. He can also create for others.

Why can Stephen Curry play the point full time and Harden can't? I'd argue that Harden's passing and court vision is just as good as Curry's.

So you're telling me you HAVE to have a point guard to guard another point guard? It's not far fetch to have Butler handle defensive duties on the other teams' point guard.

Hell, we all want Dragic and he's not exactly the Glove on D

never said that. there's a role for pg on a team for a reason and that needs to be filled. its funny how people think you can just plug and play like its that easy. how many more full time jobs do you want harden to have. be the best rounder for the rockets too?

I am a self-admitted shameless homer and I think Beverley is the perfect fit with Harden.

Butler is more than capable of guarding those guys. It's actually a very scary opposition to have Harden, Butler and Ariza as your starting perimeter guys. 3 of the best ball Hawks in the league with Howard to play eraser.

    Must try on NBA 2K15.

There have been many great NBA players throughout history that had primary scoring duties AND primary ball handling duties.

You make it seem as if Harden will be carrying MORE on his back if a Jimmy Butler was his running mate. At least with a scoring/shooting guard running with him Harden actually might see an uptick in his assists totals.

Don't get me wrong, I have a soft spot for Bev but I think he would be best suited as the 6th man. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that considering our daily discussions about replacing him with another point guard.
