Worst Bands of All-Time (In Your Opinion)

    I am curious to see which bands that the CFer's think are the worst of all time. I will start off with two.

    1) Nickelback - this is the worst band of all time. There is no debating this one. Prefabricated bro-rock crap, that sells records to the millions of dummies in the world. I will never understand the love for this band.

    2) Animal Collective - I cannot wrap my head around the love for this band either. It is monotonous, boring, pretentious, hipster garbage.

    Honorable mention (Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Hinder, Nonpoint and Limp Bizkit)

    In the early 70's, when hard rock and funk, and later disco became popular, there were a bunch of bubblegum pop bands from the 60's that tried to adapt, and failed miserably. This is the prototypical example for me.

    Mormon Funk - about as oxymoronic as Amish p*rn

    Animal Collective would be honored to be mentioned in the same breath as Nickelback. Can you define pretentious? Because you don't like a band it's pretentious to like them? Do you think the band itself is pretentious? I agree that they aren't easily accessible but there's plenty of bands like that.

    I think the ground rules are that nobody can get butthurt and come defending a band.

    Now, for worst of all time, I have a surprising entry: The Beach Boys. It's been newly unearthed that their sound was almost completely due to fancy, expensive post-production.

    In the clip below, you can hear them in the raw tracks, and it's kind of like seeing certain movie stars without makeup!

    Early-2000s nu metal/pop punk seems as close to objectively bad as music can get (though I'm willing to be corrected). Non-band stuff I would include here: early Katy Perry, Ke$ha.

    A popular band I like that I suspect is secretly bad: Arctic Monkeys

    Popular bands I don't like, but aren't necessarily "bad:" Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, the Eagles, Willie Nelson

    Arctic Monkeys secretly bad? I love them and never felt that way, but I can see why people might not like them. I am not a fan of their newest album though.
