on the block possibly......could be the new starting 3 for us ? http://articles.boston.com/2012-01-17/sports/30636147_1_kendrick-perkins-paul-pierce-celtics
I don't like his contract but if you insert him at the 3 i think it immediately makes our starting lineup and bench much more formidable. Lowry Martin Pierce Scola Dalambert Not bad at all.
Coin back to his roots, LA, possibly Lakers? They need a good SF, Metta and Luke are garbage. Barnes is so-so. Just can't figure out a good package that would satisfy Boston.

you have obviously given this a lot of thought... trading for one of the highest paid players in the league, and not losing a single piece of your starting line-up for salaries to match
Hell no... He would slow down the pace even more... and whines like a lil b**** when he doesn't get a call.......
Pssst..it is a trap, good teams trade off their fading stars for better younger players...don't fall for it. Let the Celtics wither and die. DD
It would be weird seeing him play for any other team. He should retire as a Celtic. Just wouldn't feel right if he wasn't a Celtic for life.
The article doesn't even say he's on the block. But, if he is, why would the Rockets be remotely interested? Even if we could get him for a second rounder, the damage he'd do to our salary cap space is more than his value on the court. The only teams that would/should be interested are teams on the brink of contending. Or maybe someone like the Nets could trade Okur's expiring contract for him to pair with Williams and hope that's enough to keep him in town. Then Boston could cut all 3 of the Big 3 at the same time for massive cap space.
If his contract was expiring and you weren't giving up young talent like Morris, Parson, draft picks, Montejunas, etc. then id say sure why not since the nucleus could make a playoff run. However, we all know how toxic that contract looks on the books going forward, his health concerns, age, and what the Rockets would be giving up to get him. Ill Pass, and so should most every other NBA team with young talent.
- one of my top disliked players - too old - should retire a celtic and said that he wants to play in europe for a few years fater he retires... if hes traded from the celtics he will shut it down on the receiving team
Celtics would be absolutely stupid to trade Pierce. He's been the heart and soul of that team for way too long to just get rid of him now.
Word is that Ainge is accepting the fact that the window of opportunity isnt closing, but it is in fact closed shut, and he must start the rebuilding process before their players lose all value. I dont think Ainge is stupid at all to at least entertain offers for every player on their team to start rebuilding before things get real bad there in Boston.
