    Yes, the title might be a bit overwrought at this point, but the Rocket's defense is a serious concern. Even with Beverley, Howard, and Ariza, the defensive effort just isn't there. Opposing backcourts are licking their chops knowing we won't defend worth a damn. When the Rockets step up on defense, they can afford to miss some shots.

    Yes. You are correct.

    As for the defense...yea, it's terrible. Schemes and rotations have been bad all year. Effort still lacking overall, as well.

    Ariza has been poor defensively by comparison to last season, thats really hurt us. Harden stinks howard has been just ok. I for some pathetic weird reason feel we will getnit together

    ...kind of wish we had Houston era Artest on this team to whip some of these guys into shape. I was hoping Houston would sign David West in the offseason for this very reason - to get a vet in the locker room who holds dudes accountable and is even a little scary when he needs to be. Sure West is over the hill and not a starting caliber player anymore, but the things he can still bring will never show up on a stat sheet. That's also why the Spurs are winning while we are stuck in odd roster fit hell(team that shoots lots of 3s but can't actually shoot very well).

    This game may have been the best defense we've played all season . The Knicks shot a great percentage but they were on FIRE . They knocked down a lot of tough, contested shots . Our team D forced 24 (?) turnovers and winning the possession battle was the key to this game . Bev brought it tonight . When he is on our defense is a few levels better . When Dwight gets 100 and Dmo comes back then you can bring Capela off the bench . Our defense is going to tighten up soon and it's going to look really good when it does .

    Agree. That's why it's so important. Defense helps a team come back from a deficit, build a lead, overcome poor shooting, help to produce easy chances through turnovers. The Rockets came back in the second half because they stepped up on defense. The effort has to continue every game though, not just one half. We'll have to see if they can do it.

    There is no hate. Its reality. Howard and Harden are not the cornerstone of this team. Its time to move on from them.

    The pick and roll defense is atrocious. They give them an easy 15 foot jumper every time. This is the NBA. Guys are going knock that down if you keep giving them the same look.. GIVE THE A DIFFERENT LOOK.

    I was watching videos of the 2008 squad with AB, Lowry, Scola, hayes, battier, bud.. if this team had even half as much heart and drive as that team did they would be champs. It is upsetting.

    We wait for years to get a star, get one, he almost wins MVP and helps get us to the WCF, and it's time to move on after 20 games?

    Damn...the heel-turn is so real...

    It's time to make a Beverley hate thread, but I'll just say here that he needs to be thrown off this team. He is utterly worthless and has provided zero defense.

    I have been a Rockets fan since watching the 85-86 team go to the finals. That is 30 years. In all that time this is the most heartless team I have seen. Our stars are not leaders in any way.

    Like I said in the game thread. The build up to this season all summer vs what we get is like courting this hot girls for months only to get her in bed and find a dong greeting you. That is how disappointing this year is.
