There is some possible development in the BOC going on. May be something, may be not. Only time will tell. Here are a few model runs as of this afternoon. The Navgem and Euro have been catching on to it. Spoiler Spoiler Models don't really have it moving for a few days. It will be interesting to see what happens. <script async="" src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script><iframe style="display: none;" allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no" id="rufous-sandbox" frameborder="0"></iframe>
With the Spurs being in the NBA finals I was reminded of a silly correlation I read about years ago and thought I would share it. Unfortunately I don't remember where I read it so I don't have a link to post. Every year the Spurs have won the NBA championship the Texas coast has been hit by a hurricane. 1999 - Hurricane Brett hit Padre Island 2003- Hurricane Claudette hit near Port O Connor 2005- Do I really need to say anything. Hurricane Rita 2007 - Hurricane Humberto hit near the TX/LA border
Please wait until after Sunday and don't mess up the gulf! I want a peaceful flight to the BVI. Thanks.
I always fear the first storm of the season. Alicia Alison These two have put a beat down on Houston.
Any of you hurricane follower peeps have any interest in the Pacific hurricanes Julio and Iselle? FIRST HURRICANES in 22 years <iframe width='416' height='234' src='http://www.cnn.com/video/api/embed.html#/video/weather/2014/08/07/lklv-steele-two-hurricanes-spinning-toward-hawaii.cnn' frameborder='0'></iframe>
May need to pay attention to this little thing blowing up in the E. Gulf. It is starting to get some model support now for later this week: Yesterdays HWRF model Spoiler Some of today's models: Spoiler
In addition to the above, this is not an uncommon thing. This is 2008 (Tropical Storm Edouard) Spoiler
Ha. That last picture with the HURRICANE and then Thunderstorm circle and then triangle makes it seem like it's pointing from around South Oklahoma out to the Gulf. ->->->-O-O-O
You posted that two weeks ago, but it's actually a "CURRENT" conditions .GIF that has its date at the bottom... it's current to what's going on at the time you load it. DANG, Florida... about to get some GARM type news... ("splash!" )
The storm intensity forecast. Looks like a fun weekend for Houston or New Orleans. Almost all of the models I saw yesterday had it curving to the Northeast but only a few today show that.
That so called 'monster cold front' is expected to be much less of an issue now across the NW Gulf. In fact, it may struggle to even make to Coastal Texas/Louisiana since most of the upper level support has shifted Eastward. If the storm were to strengthen rapidly in the Gulf (which isn't out of the question at all), it will likely move poleward into LA or Mississippi. Currently there is a High pressure over the SE and will be moving eastward and the storm will ride along the southern edge of the High straight westward. Just updated: EDIT: The ECMWF (Euro Model) just came out and takes this into Texas near Freeport area as a weak tropical storm/rain maker.
I know very hard to predict this far out, but what kind of time table we guesstimating it will hit Texas (if it does)? The fam going on a weekend getaway to Galveston next weekend.
