Thanks Clutch. Good read as always. I am very hopeful that the Rockets can get at least one 1st round pick or Mirotic.

Nice job Clutch. I would be happy if your conclusion came to fruition. Don't need to set the world on fire at the deadline. Would be nice to make a minor move or two to thin out the 4 spot and pick up extra picks or "assets".

    Clutch or Bima,

How much validity is there to this talk about the salary cap adjusting up to around $69 million for next season?

    David ‏@DHYLNP

@LarryCoon Are there any good estimates on what the salary cap/tax level will be next season? Seems the BRI is up:

    Larry Coon‏@LarryCoon

@DHYLNP I've heard different things and haven't gotten anything definitive. Last I saw (July) estimates were $60M/$72M.

SVP show on ESPN threw out a hypothetical. Should the Rockets trade Harden and Asik for Dwight Howard? They said that it would be hard for the Rockets to pass on that trade...: seriously?!?! I hate ESPN.

This would literally be one of the dumbest trades in the history of sports

This exactly. If you can't watch it without contemplating whether or not what the idiots at ESPN say, is in any way relevant to anything, then you should stop watching it.

If it's as a Free Agent then we package Asik + other PFs for a more established PF who is getting paid 8-10 (maybe a SnT for Millsap if he isn't moved within the next 24 hours)

Thats a good problem to have.

Worst case scenario, he gets moved as part of a package for a legit PF or PG.

JJ Redick would give us a shooter's chance in the playoffs.

    Clutch,

Do you think it would be wise to trade TJones to Atl for our 2013 pick back?

TJones seems like a perfect JSmoove replacement, and the highest the Atl pick can possibly be is 15th, so an 18th pick is good value.

Wouldn't this give Morey more leverage than having another team's first rounder because it would allow him to trade either the Rockets' 2013 or 2014 pick. I could be mistaken, but he can't trade his 2014 until he fulfills the 2013obligation or gets it back.

I really think TJones is very similar to JSmith and feel this is a great deal for both teams. Thoughts?

I wonder if Cap Room is going to complain about being treated like an asset instead of an actual human being.
