I still can't get my head around the Royals in the world series. I've been watching baseball for 20 years, and they have always sucked. It was just something I came to accept.
Game was over when Bumgarner came on. I don't think of them as a dynasty but 3 in 5 years. See ya in 2016 Giants.
Pretty great game. People always complain about not enough parity in baseball and when the royals make the WC no one watches.
There's been a huge parity shift over the last several years... a tremendous mixture of "moneyball" and big payroll teams are having success.
Bumgarner should win 2 MVPs for his performance this postseason. If I were a Royals fan I'd be very annoyed. Your team as a whole played better than the Giants did but you lose to one man.
Ironic that the ASG caused the AL to have home field advantage, which allows Bochy to keep Bumgarner in for the duration (as he doesn't have to worry about pinch-hitting for him... chances are they would have let him hit anyways).
Pitching... more importantly starting pitching.... still the most important part of the game, and it only ratchets up in importance in the fluke-ish playoffs. Can't wait for Aiken to be the next Bumgarner!... oh wait...
is Bruce Bochy the most underrated manager in the game? 3 championships in 5 years is pretty amazing with teams that likely no one would say were ever the most talented.
bochy made the ballsiest move putting madbum in that early any other pitcher, and i don't think the giants eek this out...
It was more special than Jack Morris in 1991 or Randy Johnson/Curt Schilling in 2001. He's only 25, but 4-0 in the WS (with a save) and given up 1 run in 36 Innings.
