First off lets say that these games are usually spot on with ratings. Of course they are not always right but they do a pretty good job and it can be a very accurate guide to measure real life player overall quality. So actually our starting five is pretty decent with a 81.8 Avg, compared to other Top teams starting 5s we are fine or at least very close, for example: Cavs - James, Irving, Love, Varejao & Waiters Avg: 85.2 Thunder - Ibaka, Perkins, Durant, Westbrook & Jackson Avg: 83.8 Spurs - Duncan, Parker, Leonard, Splitter & Green Avg: 83.4 Warriors - Lee, Curry, Bogut, Iguodala & Thompson Avg: 83.0 Clippers - Griffin, Jordan, Barnes, Paul & Reddick Avg: 82.8 Bulls - Gasol, Noah, Rose, Dunleavy & Buttler Avg: 82.2 Rockets - Harden, Howard, Ariza, Beverley & Jones Avg: 81.8 Wizards - Nene, Gortat, Wall, Pierce & Beal Avg: 81.8 Blazers - Aldridge, Lillard, Lopez, Batum & Mathews Avg: 81.8 Mavs - Dirk, Parsons, Chandler, Ellis & Nelson Avg: 80.8 Grizzlies - Prince, Gasol, Randolph, Lee & Conley Avg: 80.6 Raptors - Lowry, Ross, Valanciunas, DeRozan & Johnson Avg: 80.2 Heat - Bosh, Wade, McRoberts, Deng & Chalmers Avg: 79.6 Suns - Dragic, Bledsoe, Morris, Tucker & Plumlee Avg: 79.4 Pacers - Hibbert, West, Copeland, Miles & Hill Avg: 76.4 (80 with PG instead of Copeland) So that is not bad at all, we just have to make sure NOBODY else plays..... But really the game does reflect the reality of these teams. Keep in mind that when it matters the most, during the playoffs, these are the guys that will play the majority of time plus 3, 4 or 5 players per team at the most who will come from the bench to help out and see considerable minutes. That being said our bench IS pretty poor and unless we get something else done guys like Papa, Dorsey, Dmo, Canaan, Terry, etc. will have to really step it up beyond what the game predicts they can be. Now some interesting Qs: What would our starting 5 average be if we had not signed anybody but had matched Parsons's this year? An Avg of 82, that is a marginal increase compared to our current Avg of 81.8, and definitely not a Championship starting 5. What would our starting 5 average be if we had lured Bosh and matched Parsons? A Starting 5 of Howard, Harden, Bosh, Parsons & Beverley would have an Avg of 83.4, which is a top 3 starting five for sure, but according to the game ratings not the absolute best, but definetely a very good team to go to war with. What would our starting 5 average be if we had signed Lowry and kept Parsons? A Starting 5 of Howard, Harden, Jones, Parsons & Lowry would have an Avg of 83.4 which is the same as getting Bosh, but it somehow feels riskier, dont it? I feel that Bosh would have been a safer bet and would have given us more chances to get that ring than Lowry. What would our starting 5 average be if we had convinced Melo? A Starting 5 of Howard, Harden, Anthony, Jones & Beverley would have an Avg of 84.0, that is surprisingly better than getting Bosh/Lowry and keeping Parsons, so it seems that this would have been our best move, at least in the game..... Also keep in mind that looking beyond the starting 5 the chances of matching Parsons offer in this scenario would have been slim to none. Finally, given our current team what would it look like if we get Rondo considering we would likely have to surrender Jones to get him? A Starting 5 of Howard, Harden, Adrien, Ariza & Rondo would have an Avg of 82.4 which is better than it currently is but not that much better. if we can keep Jones this goes up to 83.6 and gives us a Top 3 starting five lineup and makes us an NBA2K15 contending team.... In conclusion i am depressed, this makes me feel so close but so far away at the same time.
Howard should be 91. I'm fine Harden is not in the 90s seeing as his defense is horrid. Aldridge should be 90 Westbrook should be 90 Wall should be 84 Davis should be 91 Dragic & Bledsoe should be much closer in points
Good ratings, think Kobe and Duncan shouldn't be in top 10 though. Take our George, Kobe and Duncan and H&H are # 9 and 10 which is about right. Harden/Howard are arguably better then Curry, Griffen, Melo, Love but I think the ratings are fair.
Tim Duncan is the GOAT power forward...but he's not the 4th best player in the NBA right now 2K lmao...
I think you need to brush up on your 2k15 knowledge because the game has a new ratings system this year. If James Harden had an ounce of Defense his rating would be at least 90. 2k now categorize all players and hardens rating is correct
Pretty sure they lowered Hardens defensive awareness. I believe the awareness ratings carry those most weight of tall the statistics on NBA 2k.
So... Dorsey, Capella, and Pop aren't on our team? If these guys are put in as John Doe players, I'll be annoyed.
I take issue with the fact that Howard was a 91-92 last year coming off a season that was a lot less spectacular than the one he just had. Hardens rating seems right because his offense is INCREDIBLE but he has poop defense... 2K ratings have and will always be fueled by popularity and stupidity lol
The only stupid thing is rating rookies so high. half of them will have decreased ratings over year, almost half of them will keep their ratings in the future but only because their game will improve over time. and few guys will have higher ratings but once again only because they will vastly improve in the future. These few will be the only ones who will perform in real NBA as supposed according to their ratings.
