Look at it from a different perspective. If this is the minimum it takes to keep the mindfulness/stress-reducing practices in a red-state elementary school, so be it.
Please. I have done yoga for years. ...and worked with Indians for years. Definitely not a word I don't have an understanding of.
Mindfulness is not something you have ever exhibited on this forum. And clearly you don't know the definition of namaste if you think it has religious connotations.
I was going to use the example of saying 'bless you' when someone sneezes. Religious in origin but not laden with meaning. Mandala seems more problematic. Anyway, I think schools should comply with the wishes of their parents. If it feels to the parents like it is encroaching on religious indoctrination, they should drop it. What other stakeholder matters here? It seems possible to me that they can do yoga exercises without the window dressings and it'd work just the same as a crowd-control device.
Sick of the politically correct BS from both sides of the political perspective. You want to say "namaste" go right ahead, yoga IS connected with a belief system steeped in religion. Likewise, I don't have a problem with Christmas parties, the manger or anything else that is part of the current culture.
Then why pretend it means more than that? I would be surprised that you would use such a divisive term given your hero is MLK (He would not be impressed) but given all the race-baiting and derogatory inflaming language you used and given that you use MLK as a human shield to protect your hate filled nature - I am not surprised at all.
So your inclusion of Muslims into the discussion is just a straight clown show effort on your part. Got it.
