With the Arizona game on espn today, i thought i'd recommend tuning in to see him...especially if you're in Houston because not too many of their games are televised here. The guy just impresses me the more and more i see him. I got a chance to watch him live when they played Rice and his all around skill set, awareness and smothness are impressive.
A very skilled, high bball iq baller. If he was 6'10", he would be in consideration for the #1 overall pick.
very true. That's going to be his drawback in the NBA. He'd be a monster PF if he was a little taller. He might have difficulty with the speed of NBA SFs but maybe not because he is deceptively athletic. I'm not saying he is Carmelo Anthony by any means, but his game reminds me a little of his.
He looks like a nice player, but we have too many offensive PF's on this team right now. If and when we can start trading them for other pieces (hopefully this week), then he I think he would be worth a pick from 5 to 10.
I think this guy is a twiner type PF/SF, he actually has the quickness and hops to play the role like Carmelo/ Beasely/ Antwan Jamison etc.
I agree. He's definitely got range. There's so many great things about this kid. For one, he's got a big time motor. He's got that big ole nose that takes in plenty of O2 to keep him jacked up and intense. For another, dude actually shoots more free throws than field goal attempts. That is absolutely insane. Thirdly, he's shooting an unbelievable percentage, mostly because he breaks his man down and gets to the rim and has an unbelievably explosive first step to go along with incredible strength to muscle his man once he gets going to the hoop. If you can't tell, I love this kid. I am dreaming about the Rox being able to draft him and run him out at the 3. I think he will play most of his NBA minutes at the 3 with the ability to go to the 4 in a smaller lineup. This dude is Carl Landry with more size, even more explosiveness, an even better faceup game and tremendously more range, not to mention a superior defender. He's a cross between Landry and Anthony. And I think he's going to be the best or second best player of his draft class, right there with Irving.
Looks like a Michael Beasley type to me. If he lacks the off-court baggage, that's not a bad thing. He also has a bit of that Landry-style sudden explosion to him.
Just reviving this, I had never watched him til today and wow he is a beast at finishing shots after getting fouled.
He just blocked a shot with less than 2 seconds remaining on the clock to win the game for Zona. He went for 22 and 10 (9-9 FT). I wouldn't be surprised if he's the #1 overall selection.
