    Overrated.

    That red sauce is disgusting.

Jones Chicken at 59 and Fondren has chicken and rice.

Always wanted to try Halal Guys.

But Jones Fried Chicken here in Houston is a knockoff thats pretty damn good.

Seeing that Halal Guys is only open at ridiculous hours (9pm to 5am??) and the lines are a monstrosity, I'm cool with Jones here in the H.

I've been to the original, but I like Jones' lamb and spicy rice better. The white sauce was better at the Halal Guys, but that's about it.

    in LA it's Zankou Chicken.

I'm pretty sure it was the inspiration for the Curb Your Enthusiasm "Palestinian Chicken" episode

To be honest this ish was terrific...hung over, 3 AM in the morning...and this freaking street cart has a line with 50 plus people just waiting. Lamb is the best, but that white sauce...heaven!!!

Another one of my favorite late night eating spots in NYC...Mamoun's(also need to have it with some of that special hot sauce..) They have killer sharwama's/falafels

Al Aseel Grill on Richmond and Dunvale will blow any other Mediterranean place out the park, imho. It's a small brick and mortar place with the nicest owner I've ever met. I can't even give an honest estimate on the price because he throws in a free dish(es) every now and then if he recognizes you. Also the best fried chicken you'll probably find in Houston.

I wana try Halal Guys tho, I hear a lot of about it. I don't expect much though. So many other hyped places in Austin, where is one to go first

Thank you. It's a product of the NYC-popular-thus-global-hype-effect. I disagree about the red sauce, however. Jones Chicken is close enough to the original dish.
