i guess a bum knee is a bum knee. but i wonder how much of it was the knee and how much the Celtics D.
He was gimpy for the entire playoffs. Even a gimpy Wade is an elite player though but the difference in production was clear. Two playoffs ago he averaged 24.5/7/4.4 on 48.5% shooting vs 23/5/4.3 on 46% shooting last playoffs. He was still great but he scored less on poorer efficiency and rebounded a lot less. Overall, it was a pretty significant drop off.

Bass (coin flip) Lewis
KG (depends on health of KG) Bosh

You have 3 players in their respective primes vs 2 over the hill franchise players and Rando. Unless the Heat get hampered with injuries or the Celtics play amazingly well on both sides of the floor, Heat have a great chance against them.
Bass is better than Lewis, no question.
And a healthy KG is better than a healthy Bosh in my opinion.

A healthy kg is unlikely though.

I can only see them being a true contender if Rondo is the best or second best player in the league next year. KG and Pierce are another year older.

Avery Bradley should be better. Jason Terry still has some game left too, but in general I think the Celtics only real chance is for Rondo to be the best player in a series versus the Heat

Contenders? Yes, absolutely. Top 4 team IMO...with Heat, OKC, and LA slightly ahead of them on paper.

The return of Green and the additions they have made make them an improved club. People forget how good Green can be...but of course he has missed a lot of time.

so in other words, you think Rondo can / must have a better season than durant and lebron (the 2 current best players in the league) ?!?!? thats not fair.

People have been saying this about Celtics and Spurs for the past 2 years. And yet each year they over achieve (besides Grizzlys upset of Spurs)
