Went to go deliver a couple sandwiches to a worker at an electronics store. One of the customers there sees me handing the food to the worker and loudly proclaims "oh wow I never had Chinese food before". Normally, I'd rant and rave about the stereotyping, but then it dawned on me. A grown woman living in New York City with a New York accent has somehow never eaten Chinese food in her entire life.

Made me wonder about foods that everyone has had but I've never tried. Best thing I could come up with is real apple pie. I've never eaten an actual slice of real apple pie. The apple turnovers from McDonalds are the closest I've ever had.

Somehow I'm starting to doubt your stories. Why would the owner of a shop leave his shop to deliver sandwiches? Shouldn't your employees be doing that while you manage the store?

Cut him some slack. Maybe his employees weren't dressed appropriately enough to make deliveries.

You're right. Maybe his kids were manning the shop while he was gone.

Yes, whoever heard of an Asian owner of a food place doing deliveries when things get too busy for one driver to handle. I for one find it incredibly suspicious...bro, do you even Asian?

    THIS.

I've seen it, I've smelled it, I've looked at it for 40 years but I cannot comprehend why someone would want to eat it.

    [/easy joke]

When I was in Argentina, I got invited to one of the student's family restaurant. They hooked it up, wine and the "mixed grill". When it came out to the table on the indoor parrilla, there was a calf brain sitting on top, along with the ribs and tenderloin and other beefy cuts were sweetbreads and blood sausage and other organ meats too, pretty much little parts of the whole animal.

The brain was delicious. It was all delicious.

My relatives in the Hill Country talk about about having scrambled eggs and brains for breakfast back in the day.

I would never knowingly eat eggs out side of little bits and pieces in fried rice. Hard boiled and deviled eggs are just disturbing to me.
