I have to admit that after watching the first two games that McHale has made quick and decisive changes to the roster when things are not going well. He pulled Montiejunas after plays of uninspired rebounding, pulled Bev because he missed a few open shots and put in Terry, and also has allowed small increments of frequent rest for his starters. I'm not sure what has gotten into him but its a positive change.

I told him to get his head out of his ass and he listened.

We are up by 12 with 2 minutes left in the game, pull the starters.

That was bonehead especially if someone would have gotten injured. But he has improved so far with having a quick trigger for change. Once Montiejunas got back into the game, he played better defense and then when Jones replaced him is when he began to play better. Its about competition and coaching. Hopefully the trend continues..

I agree, he has made good decisions and I like his rotation, always trying to keep either Harden or Howard in there.

that being said, I still see alot of iso ball. I know we spent most of the preseason on defense, which is good, but this iso stuff needs to end.

It was against two lottery teams, possibly the two worst teams in the Western Conference.

That was a really good win. Second night of back-to-back, on the road, against a pumped up team on their opening night in front of a boisterous crowd. The Rockets struggled at times, but had enough to win the game decisively. That is the kind of game that you might expect to come down to the wire. It didn't and that goes to both McHale and the players.

Both during their home openers. yes they are bad teams but b2b games are not lay ups.

Rockets nearly gave away the lead because of McHale's lineup to end the 3rd quarter....

I am liking how he has for the most part either had Howard or Harden in at all times.

Yeah, I'll give him props for not allowing the team to take either the Fakers or Jazz for granted. Remember, the Rockets were losing games early last season to the likes of the Sixers.

That being said, let's see how the team handles tougher situations like a close game against a quality team. Or that upcoming B2B at the Grizzlies and Thunder(BTW, why the F does the league keep scheduling us in OKC on the 2nd night of a B2B?!). If they play well in those types of games and are able to maintain their defensive intensity, execute on offense, and make in-game adjustments, then I'll start to think that McHale is developing a good chemistry with this group.

The Bulls were down 10 points against the Knicks last knight in the first.

Thibs must not be all that.

You're going to be really disappointed if you expect the team to play well for 48 minutes every game. The Spurs played like crap against Dallas in the first half.
