Then you have people like this...

Bill Richardson On Ted Cruz: "I Don't Think He Should Be Defined As A Hispanic"

In a web-only question and answer session with ABC News, former Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM), who also served as the Secretary of Energy under President Bill Clinton, said Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) "should not be defined as a Hispanic" because of his "anti-immigration" views.

Guy is surely a lighting rod, and that is just within the Democratic party.

I have heard a lot of Democrats that say Republicans do not like him, but I think less and less are expressing those views.

What kind of "talent" does a senator have or need to have? The "talent" to speak out of both sides of his mouth, log roll, and be able to abandon all previous principles at the whim of a phone poll result?

I don't know anything about Ted Cruz, but who gives a f*** what James Carville (or Bill Richardson) says.

Pretty glorious praise...you know having an articulate candidate.

His passion and "ruthlessness" are obvious, but he is already associating with Palin, Perry, Beck...this hasn't proved to be successful in the past and these particular people seem to be distancing themselves further from the party than others. Sure he will run, but be as successful as Bachman or Santorum.

I think Bill Richardson is right that Ted Cruz won't get a lot of support or credit from Hispanics.

I thoroughly encourage him to become the unyielding face of the Republican party and run for president.

Being articulate and charismatic does a lot for someone wanting to be a President. It's like Obama... Can't stand the guy. Loved his antigun failings, but he definitely is likable and you see his ability to connect. The Republicans need someone with those traits to take over. Don't know enough of this guy if he has those traits tho.

As I'm sure Mr. Carville does as well.

Can we see a birth certificate?

He was born in Calgary. To an American woman from Delaware and Cuban father.

He went to high school in Katy and Second Baptist in Houston.

He was born in Canada while his American parents were working. Sort of like how Romney was born in Mexico while his dad was working.

Doesn't matter where his parents are born he wasn't born in America.

But that's not the reason he'll never be president

Other than colonial times I don't think there has been a president born outside the US.

Being born in Canada does not prevent Ted Cruz from becoming president considering his parents are U.S. citizens.

The phrase "natural born citizen" has never been completely resolved by the courts.

I'd never challenge it though - I am looking forward to his candidacy!
