It is different for every situation but honestly how much control do you think NBA coaches have over their teams? I mean the players are being payed, it is their jobs. It's not going to have the same feel as a college or high school coach. And it seems from an outside perspective that the Heat are really Lebron's team, not Spoelstra's. Gregg Popovich seems like one of the few coaches in the league that has control over their teams. How many times during a timeout does it seem like players aren't even paying attention to their coaches? And these guys have been playing ball all of their lives, the coaches don't really need to teach them technique.

Just wondering your guys opinions on NBA coaches and their teams.

I'm no fly on the wall or anything, but it feels like coaches don't really do anything.

"Stay aggressive. Rebound better. Have more hustle than the other team."

I mean, these are what is said during those "wired" moments or w/e, that ESPN / TNT shows the tv audience. This is all common sense.

Although, most of the tactical stuff is done pre-game / halftime / days off watching tape, I would assume. I mean, you never hear a "wired" moment with a coach saying "remember that player X just came back from a sprained right ankle. Exploit that and go to his right," or something like that.
