I was on the bike trails this afternoon at Hershey Park and lost control while going fast down a curve...fell off my bike and hit the ground with my forearms and forehead. It was hard enough that it started to swell immediately, but not so hard that I felt faint or dizzy or anything. Anyways, I have a huge bump right smack dab on my forehead...I've been icing it for about an hour and a half now and I guess it's gone down a little. It's still a heinous protrusion though, looks gross. Took some Aleve and doing better pain-wise. Going to go to the doc tomorrow and buying a helmet before I go out again (obviously). I just want to know, is there anything other than icing it that would make the bump go down? I just really want it to mostly subside before work tomorrow. I look like a caveman

It's not a concussion, I feel perfectly fine. just so annoyyyyyed with how creepy I look. I'm not exactly sure where it was, but I was only a few yards from the neighborhood on Boheme, not too far from the Beltway.
No, I didn't see it. I am familiar with that area, though. When I was living in Houston, I used to walk my dog, Wags, through that area. It is basically in the middle of a forest. For a long time there was no bike trails, but then over a span of a summer, some uncouth youngsters decided to build bike trails in the middle of the forest. Unless you are familiar with the forest, you would have no idea the bike trails and jumps existed. You see an occasional snake and coyotes there at night. I once saw a ******* peackock walking through that forest by itself. It freaked me out, but not Wags. I read on Chron.com about a year ago, that there was a mountain lion sighting in Hershey Park. Not sure what section it was though, but I think closer toward Highway 6 area.
Vinegar. I remember using it on my nephew's bumped head when I was younger. Smells awful, but the swelling really went down.
