Seriously, when was the last time we saw a Rockets team at full force being able to use all its available resources and nothing going to waste.

Every year it seems we are at 50-75% of what we should be.

2009-2010 We had Yao Ming sidelined the entire season.
2008-2009 Mcgrady riding the pine consuming payroll.

And multiple seasons before that we were off/on injury riddled year by year.

It annoys me that our team is always having to adapt to change do to our constant injury problems.

For once I would like to see an entire season of a healthy Rockets team.

This means no reduced minutes, no sitting on the bench, no wasted payroll.

This team could easily win 60+ games a year with a healthy Yao and no wasted $ on the bench.

Its been far to long since our team has been able to use 100% of its resources.

But in the end I guess this just comes down to a bunch of "What ifs" :(

When was the last time we had a season when we weren't being held back by devastating injuries and wasted payroll?

Because its been far to long

I'm going with 2005 vs Dallas as the last time every major player on our payroll was active at the same time in the playoffs. Could be wrong.

Maybe the first '00 Utah series, but we sucked so much I can't remember who was injured.

    2008.

That squad with Yao healthy wins it all and never sniffs a 4/5 seed...22 in a row might have went 2-3 games longer or Boston would have been the only loss over a 25-28 game stretch.

Serious? we started Bowen because Howard was out. It was a sudden heart ailment. With Howard, we take that series.

No that season had a ton of injuries. One of the major reasons why our record wasn't so good and Dream wasn't even considered for MVP. Remember that Horry got moved to PF because we traded Otis away and I think Herrera was hurt.

Oh damn, forgot Howard. True, he would have made the difference (maybe.)

God that team was so horrible on paper relied on two pieces Yao and McGrady and great team defense.

You think? I thought you were our official historian.

Herrera dislocated his shoulder in the first round against Utah. I want to say it was in Game 2. Mad Max went AWOL after Game 1, so by the time we returned to Houston down 2-0, we had lost our backup shooting guard and our starting power forward (after trading Otis for Clyde). It makes that run even more remarkable.

Horry still started at the 3, Chilcutt and Brown manned the 4.

This is it. Man, I still hate that 40 point blowout. If the refs had seen Finley steal the ball from out of bounds I bet we would have won that series. And I won't forget how that punk Cuban whined about moving picks for Yao, causing an endless amount of offensive fouls called on our franchise player. b*stard.

If you're talking about the Utah series, we were never down 2-0.

The last time was probably right in the middle of our 22 game winning streak when Yao was arguably playing the best ball of his career....

D'oh! My bad. I tried to zip that off quickly while at work, and you are spot on correct. Back to Houston tied 1-1.

Still the point stands as others have made. That 1995 squad was not at full strength. It probably turned out to be a blessing disguise because Horry and Elie wound up getting a lot more PT.

I believe Yao was at the best of his career in the van Gundy era
