The celtics were stacked in the 60s LOL you seriously gonna count that? They had 7 other hall of Famers during that span with only 13 or 14 other teams in the league -_-

I had Modern basketball in mind when bringing up the list

Yes we are going to count that. Should we start not counting championships for teams that were stacked?

OK, so let's just forget about John Havlicek then, who even won TWO rings in the "modern era" after Russell retired, as the undisputed star of the Celtics. But we will include Jabbar who never would have won a damn thing without playing with the two best PGs ever.

Dude you must not know too much about Kareem. He would have won a ring with or without Magic or the Big O sooner or later because it wasnt that hard to build a team around him, he was that good. The year the Bucks won the championship Kareem was clearly the best player on the time. He won the MVP and the finals MVP that year so I think its safe to say the Big O wouldnt have won without Kareem.

Now Magic on the other hand I would say Kareem needed him a little more because he was past his prime.

Fact is, Kareem only won one ring throughout the entire 1970s. And you are saying it was easy to build a team around him..."he was that good."

Well I didnt say how many he would win but he would won at lease one. And when I say build around I dont mean they would win it every year just mean they will have a chance.

Hey its my prerogative to not acknowledge john havlicek in that list. It was a watered down league with no parity at that time

If you want to include him to make yourself happy, you can do that

But the point of my thread was to show the elite company he was in..if you want to havlicek as well I suppose that would make 4 players in nba history with those combination of stats and accomplishments

Maybe I just remember the '70s differently.

Havlicek won two rings in the '70s. Jabbar won one. By the end of the '70s, Jabbar was getting a reputation of being all stats, but unable to win since '71 and Oscar. Then his career was saved by Magic.

That's the way I remember it. Am I the only one who recalls Jabbar getting a bad reputation. I mean, how do you win 5 MVPs in the '70s and only get one ring without the media starting to criticize you.

He actually failed to reach the playoffs TWICE, and lost in the 1st round two more times. On top of that, Walton SWEPTED Jabbar 4-0 in the '77 WCF, yet another MVP year for Jabbar  .

Yeah, I hate these kind of stats. It's a sort of reverse-no-true-Scotsman fallacy.

What impresses me is that West got to these milestones in nearly 100 fewer games and 8000 fewer minutes than the others on the list.

Yea, but also take in account of the era was playing in. Same with the others. They could have more or less depending on the era.
